Bambi: The Reckoning plot – What will the movie be about?
Although official plot details are scarce, Bambi is set to offer a darker interpretation of the beloved original Disney animated classic. The storyline will center around a woman and her son who become lost in the woods after a car accident, only to be pursued by a terrifying deer.
Given the traumatic impact Bambi's mother's death has on children in the original 1928 story, it's not surprising that this movie will likely capitalize on that to portray Bambi as a monstrous figure. Producer Jeffrey explained to Dread Central, "The film will offer a darker retelling of the beloved 1928 story. Bambi will be depicted as a predatory force in the wilderness. Get ready for a rabid Bambi!"
The movie drew inspiration from the Netflix horror film The Ritual. It follows the story of four college friends reuniting after the death of a friend and embarking on a hike through the Scandinavian wilderness. A wrong turn leads them into the mysterious forests of Norse legend, where they encounter an ancient evil that stalks them at every turn.
This Disney classic tells the story of a young deer named Bambi who explores his forest home with his new friends, Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. He learns about the dangers of the open meadows where hunters lurk, and meets a beautiful young doe named Faline. As Bambi grows up, he discovers the tragic aspects of his forest world and the journey to adulthood.

As a Gen Z netizen, I am intrigued by the upcoming release of "Bambi: The Reckoning." The idea of a dark and twisted adaptation of the classic Disney tale is both unsettling and captivating. I grew up watching the original Bambi movie, and it holds a special place in my heart. However, I am also drawn to the concept of exploring a more mature and sinister version of the story. The idea of Bambi as a predatory force in the wilderness adds a layer of complexity and horror that I find intriguing.
I appreciate the filmmakers' decision to draw inspiration from the Netflix horror film "The Ritual." The concept of a group of friends encountering an ancient evil in the wilderness creates a sense of dread and suspense that I believe will translate well to the Bambi adaptation. I am also curious to see how the filmmakers will incorporate elements of the original Bambi story into this new, darker narrative. Overall, I am cautiously optimistic about "Bambi: The Reckoning" and eager to see how it unfolds.
