Bloody Disgusting reports that several major creative figures have been set for Bambi: The Reckoning ahead of production, which begins in England on January 5, 2024. This includes the majority of the cast, which will include Roxanne McKee, Nicola Wright, Tom Mulheron, and Samira Mighty. The movie will be directed by Dan Allen from a screenplay by Rhys Warrington.

Behind the Scenes

Many of the crew members attached to Bambi: The Reckoning will be familiar to those in the know about low-budget horror movies. This includes director Dan Allen, who previously helmed the 2017 Unhinged remake in addition to 2019's Mummy Reborn and 2021's It Came from Below. Unhinged's Scott Jeffrey is also on hand to produce along with Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey writer-director Rhys Frake-Waterfield.

Unhinged was a remake of the lesser-known 1982 slasher of the same name, which contained many homages to the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho. On the other hand, the bulk of the cast of Bambi are best known for credits outside of the horror genre. This includes the actor playing the son, Tom Mulheron, who has previously appeared in a variety of British television titles including Black Mirror, Slow Horses, Inside No. 9, and Casualty. Over the years, Nicola Wright has also appeared in a wide variety of titles, from the zany comedy Top Secret! to the long-running show EastEnders. Samira Mighty is another British notable, having appeared on the popular reality show Love Island in season 4.

The Star Power

Perhaps the most recognizable star in the bunch is Roxanne McKee, who will be playing the mother. In addition to earning her horror genre bona fides in Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, she has appeared in 99 episodes of Hollyoaks, 11 episodes of HBO's Game of Thrones, and the 2014 mythological movie The Legend of Hercules, among other titles. With such a team behind it, Bambi: The Reckoning would be an intriguing prospect even without its twisted concept.
