Sylvester Stallone is giving fans a look behind the curtain with his upcoming documentary Sly.
Stallone has captivated audiences for almost 50 years with memorable characters in hit movie series like Rocky, Rambo, and The Expendables. Now, the actor is offering a deeper glimpse into his personal and professional life.
Directed by documentarian Thom Zimny, Sly provides an unfiltered account of Stallone's path to fame. This documentary will blend footage of his filmmaking endeavors, iconic scenes from his movies, childhood photographs, and authentic conversations held within his family home in Los Angeles.
“We were in each other's company for a few years, and during that time, I completely dropped my defenses,” Stallone disclosed to Entertainment Tonight in September 2023. “I was speaking candidly, as if one had only a restricted time on this planet and wished to express oneself without any reservations or inhibitions."
Stallone observed that although he has watched numerous documentaries, the majority of them only delve into an individual's body of work rather than exploring the reasons behind their personality and the influences that shaped them.
He elaborated, stating that childhood experiences have a lasting impact on a person, leaving profound imprints that shape their perception of life. This documentary aims to explore that aspect.
