Highlights
Ino's cursed technique, Auspicious Beasts Summon, allows him to use the abilities of four auspicious beasts by covering his face with a mask.
By utilizing Kaichi, he has the ability to summon a horn-like projectile. With the power of Reiki, he is able to gracefully glide across various surfaces using cursed water. Additionally, through the use of Kirin, he can eliminate any sensation of pain. However, it is worth noting that Ino's technique comes with its drawbacks. It is obligatory for him to wear a mask, as without it, he loses the capability to employ his cursed technique, ultimately resulting in his immobility.
With few exceptions, almost every jujutsu sorcerer and curse in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga possess a cursed technique. These techniques allow them to effectively utilize their cursed energy when facing opponents. Due to the wide range of techniques available, it is rare for sorcerers to share the same technique, and they often have unique ways of utilizing them.
In the Shibuya arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Takuma Ino, a jujutsu sorcerer and a close associate of Kento Nanami, is introduced. As a senior to Itadori and Megumi, Ino showcases his technique called Auspicious Beasts Summon, enabling him to put up a formidable fight. But how does his technique truly function?
Exploring The Personality, Takuma Ino
Takuma Ino, a jujutsu sorcerer with a more upbeat demeanor compared to others, holds the rank of a grade two sorcerer. Despite being capable of achieving a semi-grade one status easily, he values the importance of doing things correctly and seeks approval from Kento Nanami before progressing further. While Ino may not possess exceptional intellect or physical strength, he maintains an unwavering willingness to learn and readily assumes a leadership role when entrusted with one. During the Shibuya arc, following the sealing of Gojo Satoru, Ino, along with Nanami and Megumi, embarked on their journey to Itadori, who disclosed the news of Gojo's confinement. Upon arrival, Nanami entrusted Ino with the task of finding a way to dismantle the barrier hindering sorcerers' access to Shibuya. Assuming his role as a leader, Ino guided his companions and successfully located the curse users responsible for erecting the barrier. Engaging in combat with one of them, Ino skillfully displayed his cursed technique known as Auspicious Beasts Summon.
Ino’s Cursed Technique: Auspicious Beasts Summon
Ino utilizes his Auspicious Beasts Summon as an inherent method by donning a mask that conceals his face. This mask transforms him into a conduit for spiritual energy, granting him access to the extraordinary powers of four auspicious beasts: Kaichi, Reiki, Kirin, and Ryu. Unlike other similar techniques involving curse manipulation or shikigami, Ino's approach does not involve summoning the beasts themselves. Rather, he exclusively taps into their abilities, which manifest within him.
Ino summons a horn adorned with dark swirling designs, known as Kaichi. This horn serves as a projectile for long- to mid-range combat, possessing the unique ability to home in on its target, leaving them unable to evade. As it travels towards its target, the horn leaves behind a trail of cursed energy in its wake. Once it strikes its intended mark, the horn vanishes until summoned again by its user. In addition to the Shibuya arc, Ino has also been witnessed employing Kaichi during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, where he utilized it to swiftly banish a formidable cursed spirit with a single blow.
By harnessing the power of Reiki, Ino is capable of conjuring cursed water that can completely envelop his entire body. This allows him to glide effortlessly across surfaces, reducing resistance and greatly enhancing his mobility. Utilizing this newfound agility, he adeptly evades incoming attacks while simultaneously delivering devastating blows of his own. Ino's third Auspicious Beast, Kirin, grants him the extraordinary ability to negate physical pain. It functions as a type of internal stimulation, akin to intracerebral doping. It is worth noting, however, that utilizing this technique drains his stamina. As of yet, Ino has not demonstrated the use of this technique within the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. Regarding Ryu, our knowledge is limited, as his mask was swiftly removed by Toji Fushiguro, who had assumed the form of Granny Ogami's grandson, preventing Ino from fully utilizing the technique.
Usage
Drawbacks
Ino's cursed technique has only been showcased in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series during the Shibuya arc. In this arc, Ino utilized his technique against Granny Ogami's grandson. Upon activating his technique with a mask, Ino's entire body became enveloped in intense cursed energy. He then employed the abilities of Kaichi, one of the four auspicious beasts, summoning its horn as a projectile. Additionally, Ino coated his body with cursed water using Reiki, increasing his mobility. Utilizing Reiki, Ino engaged in close-quarters combat with Granny Ogami's grandson, overpowering his adversary. The other two auspicious beasts, Kirin and Ryu, have yet to be employed by Ino in the series.
Inumaki's cursed speech and Ino's technique are both cursed techniques that have drawbacks and limitations. For Ino, his limitations became evident when he faced Granny Ogami's grandson, who possessed the body and physical abilities of Toji Fushiguro. Ino found himself quickly immobilized when Granny Ogami's grandson removed his mask, preventing him from using his cursed technique. The visibility of Ino's mask makes it vulnerable to being easily taken off by anyone who gets close enough, resulting in the negation of his technique. This disadvantage makes Ino's cursed technique one of the most significant drawbacks seen thus far. However, as is often the case in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, the higher the risk, the greater the reward.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
