Sabine's Loth-cat was left behind on Lothal as she set off on an adventure with Ahsoka, leading to uncertainty about its survival without her presence.

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Ahsoka episodes 1 and 2.
In the world of Star Wars, the introduction of Ahsoka brings forth a new beloved creature to the franchise - Sabine Wren's Loth-cat. Loth-cats, a species that first appeared in Star Wars Rebels, are reminiscent of real-life cats as they are carnivores that primarily feed on Loth-rats. These creatures are originally from Lothal but have also been seen in other parts of the galaxy. In episode 4 of The Mandalorian season 1, a live-action Loth-cat made its debut by hissing at Grogu when he and Din Djarin visited the planet Sorgan.
Sabine's Loth-cat differs from the one on Sorgan as it combines both animatronics and CGI, taking inspiration from Grogu. Domesticating a Loth-cat was challenging due to their mischievous nature, with most of them roaming the grasslands of Lothal in search of food. While they usually lived alone, they would come together to raise their young, known as kits. Sabine's ability to tame her Loth-cat is remarkable, especially considering Ezra Bridger's struggles in connecting with them through the Force in Rebels.
Sabine Left Her Loth-Cat On Lothal - With Nobody To Care For It
Despite introducing her adorable feline in the debut episodes, the series appears to be diverging from Lothal by the end of episode 2. Sabine has undergone a makeover, cutting her hair and suiting up in her original Mandalorian armor to embark on an adventure with Ahsoka. However, this decision seems to have left her Loth-cat all by itself in the Lothal communications tower. Considering how well she has taken care of the Loth-cat thus far, it's difficult to believe that she wouldn't have at least brought it down from the top of the tower. Nonetheless, the series fails to address what happened to her feline companion after Sabine's departure with Ahsoka.
Can A Loth-Cat Survive Without Its Owner?
While Loth-cats are originally wild creatures and have the ability to fend for themselves, Sabine went to great lengths to domesticate hers. Her Loth-cat has now become dependent on her for sustenance and companionship. This raises the question of whether the Loth-cat can survive without Sabine to provide it with food and companionship. It has likely been her pet throughout her time on Lothal, but it remains to be seen if it still possesses enough natural instincts to thrive on its own.
There is a slight chance that Sabine Wren managed to secretly bring her Loth-cat aboard Ahsoka's T-6 shuttle before leaving Lothal. However, it is unlikely as she is not seen with the cat in the end of episode 2. Fortunately, the Star Wars franchise rarely allows any harm to come to its adorable and marketable creatures. Though the Ahsoka series may have overlooked tying up the loose end of Sabine's Loth-cat, there is still hope that the feline made it to the fields of Lothal where it can peacefully hunt Loth-rats while waiting for Sabine's return.
New episodes of Ahsoka are released on Disney+ every Tuesday at 6pm PT / 9pm ET.
