The new Ahsoka series in Star Wars presents an exhilarating array of lightsaber duels. With an incredible lineup of lightsaber-wielding characters, including the iconic Ahsoka Tano (portrayed by Rosario Dawson) and her apprentice Sabine Wren (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo), the show is filled with intense clashes of lightsabers. Additionally, a formidable trio of dark-side villains, featuring Baylan Skoll (played by Ray Stevenson), Shin Hati (played by Ivanna Sakhno), and the enigmatic Inquisitor called Marrok, wield their own menacing lightsabers.
Ahsoka takes place during the New Republic era, where the traditional Jedi and Sith are not present. Despite the presence of lightsabers, the forces of light and dark are represented by individuals who do not fall under the conventional Jedi or Sith categories. Ahsoka, a former Jedi, is training Sabine, a Mandalorian who seemingly cannot wield the Force, to become a Jedi. Baylan and Shin are referred to as Dark Jedi rather than Sith, while Marrok, a former Imperial Inquisitor, served the Sith during the Empire days but is not a Sith himself. Despite their affiliations, they all wield the iconic Star Wars weapon. Here is a ranking of all of Ahsoka's lightsaber fights.
3 Sabine vs Shin Hati on Lothal
Featured in the concluding part of Ahsoka episode 1, Sabine disregarded Ahsoka's wishes and took the star map to her residence, situated at one of Lothal's communication towers. Shortly after successfully deciphering the map and pinpointing the whereabouts of the former Imperial leader, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Sabine was ambushed by HK assassin droids, who served Lady Morgan Elsbeth. Elsbeth, a Nightsister and Thrawn's ally, aimed to bring him back to the known galaxy. In a swift move, Sabine retrieved Jedi Ezra Bridger's lightsaber (who is also currently missing) and soon found herself face to face with Shin Hati, Baylan's sinister apprentice.
Although the confrontation between the two apprentices did occur, it was fleeting. Sabine's lack of practice with her lightsaber, since Ahsoka discontinued her training, left her rusty. Consequently, after only a few exchanges, Shin easily impaled Wren's side with her own lightsaber, showcasing remarkable control throughout the duel. Following this victory, Shin departed to deliver the star map to her master and Elsbeth, as Sabine posed little challenge to her.
2 Ahsoka vs. HK Assassin Droids
1 Ahsoka's First Duel With Marrok, The Imperial Inquisitor
As Ahsoka's inaugural scene in her upcoming Star Wars series, the former Jedi confronts Morgan Elsbeth's group of five assassin droids simultaneously at the Nightsisters' stronghold on Arcana. By utilizing the subterranean chamber beneath her, Tano cleverly destabilizes the ground beneath three of the droids before seamlessly dispatching the remaining two, who wield lethal electro-staffs, employing her dual lightsabers with remarkable skill and dexterity. Even though the droids attempt a self-destruct sequence following the defeat of the initial two, Ahsoka's exceptional Jedi abilities and extensive experience indicate that she would have been fully capable of defeating all of them.
Ahsoka engages in her first duel with Marrok on the planet Corellia. Assisted by another assassin droid, Ahsoka effortlessly dismantles the HK despite Marrok's interference. Utilizing both of her white-bladed lightsabers, she skillfully clashes with Marrok's crimson blade. Even when her dark side adversary activates a second blade from his classic Inquisitors' hilt, Ahsoka remains his equal. With impressive agility, she backflips over the lightsaber when it is hurled towards her, effortlessly sensing its return as Marrok flees. She skillfully evades the weapon by moving just enough to dodge it, displaying her lack of fear. Ahsoka's second episode of Ahsoka showcases her exceptional bravery and "cool" factor.
