The forthcoming game will showcase an expansive world incorporating fresh elements, comprising of 165 never-before-seen adversaries. The Collector's Map, cherished by players in the first game, will have a pivotal role in uncovering hidden secrets and possibly rescuing the Caravan and its fleas.

Hollow Knight: Silksong, the highly anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight, was announced by Team Cherry in 2019. However, the release of the game has been delayed beyond the expected Q1 2023 launch in order to ensure its development is thorough. As we approach fall, it is anticipated that Hollow Knight: Silksong will still be released this year, though an official date has not been announced yet.

With only four months remaining in the year, fans of the 2D platformer have much to look forward to. As Hollow Knight: Silksong builds upon the lore of its predecessor, there are numerous beloved elements that are expected to make a return. One crucial quality-of-life feature that fans are eagerly anticipating is the inclusion of the Collector's Map.

Hollow Knight: Silksong's World is Massive

With several years of development behind it, Hollow Knight: Silksong is undoubtedly a project undergoing significant work. Team Cherry has shared in a blog post that the world is brimming with fresh elements, boasting a staggering 165 new enemies and 100 scattered benches. In comparison, the 2017 game, upon completing the Hunter's Journal, featured a total of 150 distinct enemies and a mere 41 benches in the realm of Hallownest.

Though the presence of twice as many benches might not necessarily indicate a significantly larger size for Pharloom, it could simply imply that the developers aim to provide players with more opportunities to save their progress. However, it's worth noting that Hollow Knight: Silksong initially began as a DLC for Hollow Knight but soon evolved into a standalone title due to its captivating world-building, introduction of new characters, and unique mechanics. Given these factors, it is highly likely that the in-game map will be expansive and substantial.

People have observed that Hornet, the latest protagonist in the series, possesses greater agility compared to the Knight. In the glimpses of her that the audience has caught, she effortlessly maneuvers through platforms at a rapid pace and executes sharp turns. Despite Hornet's fast-paced gameplay, the journey of uncovering all the secrets of Pharloom could be made simpler with the assistance of the Collector's Map from Hollow Knight.

In the previous game, there were numerous hidden passages and secret areas that held valuable items, potential allies in need of rescuing, or even bonus bosses. Upon obtaining the Collector's Map, players gain access to the precise locations of all 46 grubs, though they must initially purchase maps for each specific area. Once a grub is rescued, players can return them to the Grubfather residing in Hollow Knight. This achievement also grants the coveted Metamorphosis award for those who are actively pursuing collectibles and accomplishments.

Unfortunately, there have been no sightings of the grubs in the sequel yet. However, in 2020, a Twitter post by user mossbag69 mentioned some adorable creatures from the Hollow Knight: Silksong 2019 E3 demo that might be the next species requiring rescue. These creatures, known as the Caravan according to the Hollow Knight wiki, resemble fluffy fleas. They can be found sleeping in Pharloom while others are on the lookout for something valuable.

While there is hope for the grubs' return, saving the fleas presents unique challenges due to their wings. Whether the Caravan and its fleas require rescue has yet to be determined. If they do, a map displaying their locations in Hollow Knight: Silksong would be incredibly useful.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is in development for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
