In the world of gaming, the Necromancer class has always been synonymous with bringing undead minions to fight against evil on the battlefield. However, in many games within the Diablo franchise, these minions tend to lose their strength over time, leading players to rely on alternatives such as Corpse Explosion and Bone Spear. Fortunately, with Diablo 4, there is a clear path for these summoned units to shine, particularly in the endgame. This is achieved by providing Necromancers with the necessary tools to enhance their units, allowing players to support them in taking on crucial roles such as tanking, healing, and dealing damage with deadly precision.

With 58 skill points at their disposal, players at the maximum level and with all the Renown gathered can invest in various options. While both Shadowblight and Kalan's Edict have compelling arguments for being the key passive, Kalan's Edict offers a higher damage ceiling provided players can avoid getting hit.
With the late-game Summoner Necromancer build, opponents can quickly kill the minions, which is the biggest downfall. However, this build addresses this issue by increasing the minions' durability and providing an abundance of corpses through Decompose. Even if all the minions are killed by a tough boss, the Supreme Army of the Dead can revive the team, making it a reliable and formidable build.
Paragon Boards
Board | Paragon/Legendary Nodes | Glyph |
Start | Resilience, Preservation | Deadraiser |
Cult Leader | Infused Warrior, Cult Leader, Puppeteer, Unfused Caster, Overlord | Control |
Hulking Monstrosity | Hulking Monstrosity, Infused Golem, Mutation, Frenzied Golem | Amplify |
Wither | None | Scourge |
Scent of Death | None | Corporeal |
Adjusting the paragon boards and glyphs can be a challenging task, requiring players to ensure that the boards are correctly positioned to create a smooth flow. Although reaching the maximum 200 paragon points may be difficult, the benefits of doing so are substantial, significantly enhancing players' powers.
While it may be impractical to list all nodes, players can navigate between the major nodes listed without difficulty. It is crucial to acquire all relevant stat bonus nodes within the designated glyph areas to maximize the paragon board's potential.
It is crucial to ensure that the node or glyph explicitly indicates that the bonus benefits the minions; otherwise, it will not have any effect. Therefore, prioritizing nodes that enhance the tankiness of the build as opposed to dealing direct damage would be more beneficial. The Shadow skills are primarily used to apply slow and stun debuffs that the minions can take advantage of. As a result, it is recommended to invest in numerous nodes in the Cult Leader and Hulking Monstrosity boards that cater to minions and utilize the other boards for additional glyphs.
Gear
Slot | Aspect/Piece |
Helm | Aspect of the Void |
Chest | Blood Getter's Aspect |
Gloves | Viscous Aspect |
Pants | Aspect of Hardened Bones |
Boots | Exploiter's Aspect |
Amulet | Unyielding Commander's Aspect |
Ring | Ring of Mendeln |
Ring | Hulking Aspect |
Main Hand | Aspect of the Frenzied Dead |
Off-Hand | Aspect of Reanimation |
Gamers now have more freedom to choose their gear based on stats and add their preferred effect with the new aspect system. While increasing potion efficiency is helpful, the game-changing aspects are what make a significant impact. It's worth noting that some aspects can be interchanged between gear pieces.
When combining Blood Getter's Aspect and Viscous Aspect, the player gains an additional four minions for their build. When considering the overall setup, this creates an overwhelming force that even the most challenging world bosses struggle to handle. Additionally, the Aspect of the Frenzied Dead stacks with Kalan's Edict, providing minions with an extremely fast attack speed.
Book of the Dead
This strategy focuses on maintaining the balance of difficulty in World Tiers through the use of Book of the Dead. The build prioritizes damage over tanking for all three minions, using a rotation that allows fallen allies to be resummoned instead of trying to keep them alive for an extended period of time.
Organizing the Book of the Dead in this manner allows the undead allies to adopt a proactive approach, which proves to be their best defense. By eliminating enemies, bosses or mobs at a faster rate, there is no longer a need to compromise on damage output by focusing on tanking nodes on the paragon boards and gear aspects. Sacrificing damage for superior defense is simply not worth it. Don't miss out on the opportunity to play Diablo 4, available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
