Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are nearing the release of their highly anticipated second part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, The Indigo Disk. This upcoming content will continue the captivating story that began with the first DLC, The Teal Mask, which made its debut in September 2023.
The Indigo Disk's exact release date has yet to be determined, but it is slated to launch sometime during Winter 2023. With this finale to The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, fans are sure to be intrigued as they await the exciting conclusion and potentially the final addition of extra content for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
New And Returning Pokemon
The Indigo Disk will introduce several never-before-seen Pokemon, including Terapagos, who serves as a prominent mascot. Terapagos' initial appearance in the Pokemon anime led some to believe it was a precursor to the Terastal form.
In addition to Terapagos, The Indigo Disk will feature two new Paradox Pokemon: Raging Bolt and Iron Crown. Raging Bolt is a long-necked creature reminiscent of the legendary beast Raikou, while Iron Crown has a robotic design inspired by the Generation 5 legendary Cobalion. Furthermore, the popular Generation 8 Pokemon Duraludon will receive a new evolution resembling a suspension bridge.
It is unclear whether there will be any new Pokemon introduced in The Indigo Disk. Speculation suggests that Dipplin, the candy apple Pokemon featured in The Teal Mask, may have a final evolution. Additionally, more than 100 creatures from previous generations are set to make a comeback. Nevertheless, despite these new additions, there will still be a notable absence of several Pokemon from the National Pokedex.
New and Returning Characters
The Indigo Disk is set in Blueberry Academy, which serves as a sister school to the player's school in Paldea. Located in the Unova region, Blueberry Academy is a recently established educational institution dedicated to Pokemon battling. Notably, the academy boasts its very own Elite Four, whom the player will likely need to face as part of their journey.
Blueberry Academy is a sprawling underwater facility housing four distinct artificial biomes with varying climates. Situated far out at sea, it is unlikely that players will have access to the Unova region. However, players can invite characters from Paldea to visit the academy, allowing them to deepen their understanding of these characters, engage in battles, and even trade Pokemon. Additionally, it is expected that the Blueberry Academy students, Carmine and Kieran from The Teal Mask, will make appearances once more.
Blueberry Academy Club Activities
Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can participate in the Battle League Club's activities at Blueberry Academy. By doing so, they will earn Blueberry Points, a currency within the academy, which can be used to support other clubs and receive rewards. For instance, after assisting the Art Club, players will have the opportunity to renovate the Battle League Clubroom.
Additionally, there are various exciting activities and character interactions awaiting players in The Indigo Disk. Importantly, this expansion will bring closure to The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero storyline. It is worth noting that in order to access The Indigo Disk, players must first complete the main storylines of both the Scarlet and Violet games, as well as The Teal Mask DLC.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now on Nintendo Switch. The Indigo Disk DLC is set to release in Winter 2023.
