November is quickly approaching, signaling the imminent arrival of Activision's latest installment in the Call of Duty series. This year, Infinity Ward and Activision are presenting a revamped version of the third chapter in the Modern Warfare saga, the thrilling conclusion to the adventures of Task Force 141's Captain Price and Sergeant "Soap" MacTavish.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will grant players an entirely new campaign, an immersive open-world zombie experience, and 16 multiplayer maps upon its release. These maps will feature both beloved favorites from Modern Warfare 2, released in 2009, as well as 12 brand-new additions throughout the year. Excited players can dive into the open beta this weekend to catch a taste of the exciting content that Activision has in store for us this holiday season.
The beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now available for PC and Xbox players who have pre-ordered. It launched earlier today on Thursday, October 12th at 10am PT / 1pm ET and will be open until Monday, October 16th at the same local time. Those who haven't pre-ordered will be able to join starting on Saturday, October 14th at 10am PT / 1pm ET.
To access the beta, log in to Call of Duty HQ. If you don't have Call of Duty HQ or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 installed, you can find it in the store or under purchased games. Once installed, connect to the Activision network, scroll down to the Modern Warfare 3 tab, and launch the beta. If you pre-ordered the game, you may find an option to join the open beta in the first tab of Call of Duty HQ called "What's Hot."
In the beta version, players will be able to customize weapons, operators, finishing moves, and more. They can also choose from three playlists: Mosh Pit, Cutthroat, and Ground War. Mosh Pit will immerse players in classic game types like Team Deathmatch and Domination with 6v6 battles. Ground War, an upgraded and intensified version of Domination, will feature large team battles on expansive maps with five objectives to capture and control. Introducing a new mode called Cutthroat, inspired by the billiards game, three teams of three will compete to be the last team standing. Players will have only one life per round, and the team that reaches the round score limit first will be crowned the victor.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Open Beta launches October 14th, on Xbox and PC, available now with pre-order.
