Unleashing the Devastating Power of Barbarians in Diablo 4Barbarians are known for their melee combat skills, charging headfirst into battle with a variety of weapons at their disposal. In Diablo 4, this class has been given a boost with numerous Legendary effects that take their destructive potential to new heights. To fully utilize the Barbarian's power, it's recommended to focus on specific skill-related aspects such as the Expectant Edgemaster's Aspect, Umbral Bold Chieftain's Resource Aspect, and other recommended skill-specific aspects.
1. Aspect of the Expectant
With so many Legendary Aspects available for selection in Diablo 4, it can be overwhelming for players to determine the most optimal build. To assist Barbarian players, we have compiled a list of some of the most effective Aspects to utilize.
For Barbarian builds that rely on Basic Skills for mobility and utility, Aspect of the Expectant is a valuable addition. This skill enhances the damage of Core Skills with each Basic Skill attack, making it particularly effective for builds that use Double Swing or Deathblow, which involve frequent Basic Skill use.
Aspect of the Expectant can be unlocked by clearing the Underroot Dungeon in Scosglen. Players will have to clear the Tur Dulra Stronghold first to access it.
2. Edgemaster's Aspect
Barbarians in Diablo 4 often rely on this powerful affix, which remains a popular choice both early on and in later stages of the game. The affix increases the damage of Core skills in proportion to the amount of resources a character has. This makes it a particularly strong option for builds centered around Hammer of the Ancients and Whirlwind, especially when equipped on a two-handed weapon.
Edgemaster's Aspect can be unlocked by clearing the Oldstones dungeon in Scosglen's The Downs region between Cerrigar and Tirmair.
3. Aspect of the Umbral
For those using Whirlwind builds in the early-mid game, the Aspect of the Umbral is an essential item to have. It provides a solution to Fury problems by generating 1 Fury each time an enemy is Crowd-Controlled. Players can easily take advantage of this effect by equipping a Two-Handed Sword or using it in the Expertise Technique slot along with the Hamstring passive.
Complete the Champion's Demise dungeon in the Dry Steppes to unlock this Aspect. It is located east of Jirandai, along the base of a cliff.
4. Bold Chieftain's Resource Aspect
Late-game Barbarian builds often require the use of Bold Chieftain's Resource, an essential Aspect that reduces the cooldown of Shouts based on the number of enemies around the Barbarian. When combined with the Marshal Paragon Glyph, which also reduces Shout cooldowns, this Aspect becomes even more powerful. For players utilizing Whirlwind or Walking Arsenal builds, Bold Chieftain's Resource can provide nearly unlimited Fury, making it an invaluable tool for taking on endgame content.
This Aspect is not unlockable, and it can only be obtained from random drops. The best way to get this is to buy Rings from Curiosity vendors in towns.
Recommended Skill-Specific Aspects
While the four Aspects mentioned earlier are great options for most Barbarian builds, there are also some recommendations for players who want to focus on particular Core Skills and their effects. By choosing specific Aspects, players can further enhance their builds and improve their overall performance.
Players can unleash devastating attacks with the various skills and abilities available in Diablo 4. These include the Hammer of the Ancients with its Ancestral Force and Inner Calm, the Whirlwind with its Berserk Ripping and Dire Whirlwind, the Double Swing with its Windlasher and Anemia, the Rend with its Slaking, Skullbreaker, and Iron Blood, and the Upheaval with its Ancestral Echoes. With so many powerful options at their disposal, players will have no shortage of ways to take down demons and other foes in this exciting new installment of the legendary Diablo franchise.
