The Mendacious Visage is a boss in Lords of the Fallen that players are not required to defeat in order to continue exploring. It can be encountered in the Forsaken Fen, which follows Pilgrim's Perch. It is important to note that the Forsaken Fen becomes accessible only after defeating the Congregator of Flesh boss.
Once the Mendacious Visage boss is defeated, lampbearers will encounter it as a regular enemy in different areas. The boss's location can be challenging as most players tend to focus on the areas in Axiom and overlook the alternative routes in Umbral.
Where To Find Mendacious Visage In Lords Of The Fallen
Mendacious Visage can be encountered within the Umbral Realm in Lords of the Fallen. To reach this location, players must journey to the Vestige of Valade in the Forsaken Fen and proceed through the gate located inside a cave. This gate serves as a convenient shortcut back to the large fire pit. Upon entering, players may choose to either ignore or defeat the Shuja Warrior. Following that, they should utilize the Umbral Lamp to traverse to the realm of the dead. It is important to bear in mind that, within the Umbral Realm, Remnants will periodically manifest and pose a threat to both lampbearers and the regular adversaries.
Jump down from the platform and circumnavigate the fire pit to discover a wooden bridge. Traverse it and continue onwards until you come across a cave entrance. Enter the cave and descend the slope to encounter The Iron Wayfarer NPC in Lords of the Fallen. Move forward and shatter the barrier of grass to be unexpectedly attacked by a Shuja Warrior inside the cave.
Defeat the enemy first, then proceed towards the right to encounter a pathway obstructed by a pair of Fetid Sacrifices. Carry on walking past them and navigate through the cave while evading the Brogids and the trio of rolling spheres that aim to assail players. Keep going until you reach a wall.
Climb the slope to find more Brogids and even more rolling spheres. Deal with the Shuja Strider found up ahead and try to dodge its Poison darts to continue exploring.
Continue ascending until you spot a ladder, which can be used as a shortcut to reach the Mendacious Visage more rapidly. Overcome the hindrance, Soulflay, and proceed to enter the boss arena.
We highly advise exploring the Umbral Realm, as the route will not be visible in Axiom because of the elevated water level near The Iron Wayfarer.
How To Beat The Mendacious Visage In Lords Of The Fallen
The Mendacious Visage, a formidable stone giant, roams and exterminates adversaries by engaging in close quarter combat. Its repertoire of attacks encompasses jumping, slamming, and stomping. The chief source of frustration lies in its Frostbite strikes, capable of halving players' Stamina in the game Lords of the Fallen. Seek out armor with substantial resistance to enhance your chances of survival.
There are two approaches to dealing damage to the Mendacious Visage boss. The first is to strike it from behind when it jumps or slams. The second is to wait until the boss cracks open its stone face and reveals a vulnerable core. In this latter case, move in close to the Mendacious Visage and launch a relentless assault on its fragile core, while evading its swipe attacks. Repeat these steps until the optional boss is defeated.
Another frustrating aspect of the Mendacious Visage boss fight in Lords of the Fallen is the presence of Shrouded Remnants, which use ranged attacks to distract players and cause additional damage. The only way to circumvent this issue is to destroy two Soulflaying obstacles and eliminate the Umbral entity that is blocking the path.
Lords of the Fallen is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
