After the Hunter's lethal assault in the main story mission "High Price to Pay," players of Starfield must secure a new sanctuary for the Artifacts to protect them from the Starborn. Several possibilities exist, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.
At first, the game presents only two choices, prohibiting players from progressing until they select one. However, upon making their decision, a third option reveals itself, which will likely be considered the optimal choice by many Starfield players.
Where to Build the Armillary in Starfield
After returning to the Eye to check on the survivors, Noel will provide players with the Artifacts and instruct them to secure them. At this juncture, players have two options: either place the Artifacts on their ship or transport them to an outpost. To opt for the former, they need to interact with the Armillary Screen on their ship and select the "Build Armillary" option. To accomplish the latter, they should head to an outpost, enter build mode, and install an Armillary. This will require five pieces of Titanium and three pieces of Neodymium.
Once players have chosen one of these two options, they can freely resume the mission at hand. The next objective entails returning to the Lodge in New Atlantis. However, before proceeding, players may want to contemplate removing the Armillary and retrieving the Artifacts to safeguard them. This action might result in an increased risk of Starborn attacks, but it guarantees the Artifacts are never left vulnerable. Some players may even prefer the added chances to test their combat abilities. It's important to note that keeping the Artifacts in the playable character's inventory will not impact their carrying capacity in any manner.
When it comes to the two available options, it is arguably more advantageous to construct the Armillary directly on one's ship. This is because Starborn attacks typically occur while players are piloting the ship. While it is feasible to establish defense systems at outposts or station a few crew members there to watch for Starborn invaders, this approach necessitates both resources and personnel, making it less than ideal. Moreover, this increases the risk of damage to existing infrastructure during confrontations. As a result, players may want to contemplate developing a new outpost specifically dedicated to safeguarding the Artifacts if they choose this course of action.
Starfield is available now for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
