Tears of the Kingdom introduces an abundance of useful items, including fairies, hightail lizards, sun pumpkins, shock fruit, and more.
Link's latest ability, fuse, empowers players to augment the strength of their weapons and shields by merging them with a diverse range of items. This enhancement greatly amplifies the gameplay experience.
Within Tears of the Kingdom, players will come across exceptional items like dazzlefruit and muddle buds, each possessing distinctive properties. These special items bestow dazzling effects, such as stunning monsters or inciting them to engage in fierce combat against one another.
Tears of the Kingdom, the highly successful sequel to Breath of the Wild, offers an enhanced open-world gaming experience. It combines captivating storytelling, well-developed characters, and immersive world-building with the thrill of exploration, dungeon crawling, and battles with formidable monsters. In this game, the collection and utilization of resources found throughout the vast land of Hyrule play a crucial role. From humble pine cones and mushrooms to rare dragon scales and eyeballs, players can discover a wide array of items. Building upon the foundation of Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom introduces new areas such as the depths and sky islands, unveiling a plethora of valuable objects.
Items have gained even greater significance in Tears of the Kingdom due to the introduction of Link's new ability to fuse them with weapons and shields, augmenting their strength. Moreover, the game has done away with fire, ice, and lightning arrows, instead encouraging players to experiment creatively by attaching various items to standard arrows. While most players quickly learn to fuse their weapons with formidable monster and zonai parts, there is a vast collection of fruits, critters, and materials that can greatly amplify the gameplay experience in numerous ways.
10 Fairies
Zelda fans are likely acquainted with fairies, a mystical creature that rejuvenates Link when he loses all of his hearts. Activating a fairy is unnecessary, as it automatically activates when Link's hearts drop below zero.
It is advisable for players to gather fairies prior to engaging in a major boss battle or raiding a monster fort. Fairies can easily be found near water on sky islands or in the well located at Dueling Peaks stable.
9 Hightail Lizards
The hightail lizards, which have made a comeback from Breath of the Wild, serve as an excellent ingredient for creating elixirs that greatly enhance speed when combined with monster parts. For players seeking to overcome Link's slow pace and swiftly navigate through walls, caves, and dungeons, hightail lizards are an absolute necessity. These agile creatures can be spotted throughout various regions of Hyrule, specifically in areas devoid of snow, commonly nestled within felled trees. Players must either exercise caution and stealth when approaching these lizards or be prepared to swiftly grab them, as they tend to vanish shortly after being discovered.
8 Sun Pumpkins
Sun pumpkins, a recent innovation from Hateno Village, can be acquired by players upon finishing the 'The Mayoral Election' side quest. Similar to sundelions, sun pumpkins have the potential to be transformed into a delectable meal, serving as a remedy for injuries caused by despondent monsters. As a consequence, they play a crucial role for players exploring treacherous domains. To procure these radiant squash, one can either visit the Hateno Village shop or grow them in Uma's garden subsequent to the completion of both 'Teach Me A Lesson' quests, followed by the 'Homegrown in Hateno' quest.
7 Shock Fruit
Shock fruits are among the primary fruits found in Hyrule, predominantly on sky islands or in the vicinity of Gerudo Desert. When fired at enemies, these fruits inflict additional damage, but their true significance lies in their ability to shock monsters, granting players a vital window of opportunity to engage in unrestricted attacks. Despite their relative scarcity, it is advisable for players to consistently collect shock fruits whenever they come across them.
6 Shard Of Dinraal's Spike
Dinraal can be observed soaring through the skies of Hyrule and descending into shadowy depths. By strategically launching themselves and timing their jumps, players have the opportunity to land on Dinraal and gather a variety of items. It is highly recommended for players to wear fire-proof armor or keep fire-resistant consumables within reach, as the intense heat in Dinraal's proximity can be unbearable.
To acquire the shards in abundance, players should target the bases of the spikes on the dragon's back. These spikes can be merged with weapons to imbue them with fire, rendering them highly effective against fire monsters, especially frost gleeoks. Defeating these monsters could lead players to the retrieval of Zelda's golden horse.
5 Puffshroom
Found exclusively in the depths of Tears of the Kingdom, these new inedible mushrooms are a remarkable species of fungus. Puffshrooms offer players a strategic advantage by producing a cloud of dust when thrown towards hordes of monsters. This cloud conceals Link from enemies, creating an opportunity for players to land free hits. Moreover, these mushrooms are not only a valuable asset in battles but also serve as a means of swift evasion. Puffshrooms can commonly be spotted near the roots of trees and along cliff edges in the depths, making them a highly sought-after item in the game.
4 Gibdo Bones
These monster parts possess tremendous strength, but their fragility is a drawback as they will break after a single strike. This makes them unsuitable for weapon fusion, but they are perfect for attaching to arrows. If players wish to deliver powerful long-range attacks, such as hitting the eye of a Hinox or swiftly defeating a silver moblin, gibdo bones are unparalleled.
To acquire them, the best method is to proceed to Gerudo town and successfully complete the corresponding section of the 'Regional Phenomena' quest. Alternatively, players can venture into the depths and search for a Queen Gibdo miniboss in the Gerudo area.
3 Dazzlefruit
Dazzlefruit, along with shock fruit and puffshrooms, are exclusive to Tears of the Kingdom and have a similar effect. Players can easily locate them while exploring sky islands or alternatively, they can often be found in Hyrule Field and the Gerudo region. When thrown or attached to an arrow, dazzlefruit have the ability to stun monsters, granting Link a few precious seconds to either attack or make a quick escape.
Dazzlefruit prove to be a valuable resource for players seeking to avoid unnecessary battles or allowing Link a moment to evaluate the situation before engaging in combat. Their effectiveness is particularly notable when used against formidable foes such as Hinox or Frox, as they become vulnerable targets once blinded.
2 Ice Keese Eyeballs
Players can no longer purchase pre-attached item arrows, prompting the game to emphasize the importance of exploring different arrow attachments. Among the options, eyeballs from monsters like keese and aerocudas serve as excellent arrow items. Ice keese eyeballs, in particular, prove to be highly advantageous in combat.
These eyeballs possess the ability to track enemy targets, making them perfect for challenging shots or airborne adversaries. Additionally, when using ice keese eyeballs, smaller monsters can be frozen solid. If the creature happens to be of fire origin, it will be eliminated with a single blow. On the other hand, if it is not fire-based, freezing the monster grants Link an opportunity to approach and deliver a powerful strike before the enemy regains mobility and retaliates. The freezing effect lasts longer than electrocution, offering crowd control capabilities and allowing players to confront monsters one by one. For those in search of ice keese, the snowy Hebra region is the ideal location.
1 Muddle Buds
Muddle buds are incredibly common in the depths, and players who have spent time searching for them likely have a substantial collection. When used, these buds incite monsters to fight amongst themselves. With their area of effect, players can strategically aim and turn an entire group of monsters against each other using just one flower. In Tears of the Kingdom, where monster camp raids have been introduced, muddle buds are invaluable in easing the burden on Link and his friends who have become monster hunters. Additionally, they are particularly useful in challenging areas such as Eventide Island, where Link must face large groups of monsters alone.
These purple flowers are among the game's best items and significantly simplify battles for players seeking to gather monster parts or efficiently clear out camps. Attaching a muddle bud to Link's shield allows it to burst upon impact, confusing the targeted monster. For players wanting to stock up on muddle buds, they can be exchanged for poes at bargainer statues located throughout the depths or at Lookout Landing.
