The Ultimate Game Surprise: Capcom Drops New Title Exclusively on Xbox Game Pass Launch Day

Capcom unveils exciting news for gamers as they announce a brand-new game that will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day Get ready to experience the thrill of this new title as soon as it hits the market Stay tuned for more updates!

During the Xbox Games Showcase, Capcom unveiled a brand new Xbox Game Pass title called Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, which will be available on day one. Unlike previous Capcom franchises like Resident Evil, Okami, or Devil May Cry, this game is a completely new IP. Alongside other titles that received extended gameplay showcases or reveals like Avowed, Fable, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess promises to be an exciting addition to the Xbox Game Pass library. Capcom has already brought over several titles to Xbox Game Pass, including Monster Hunter Rise and Devil May Cry 5, and will be releasing their upcoming dinosaur-themed third-person shooter, Exoprimal, in July as a day one Xbox Game Pass title. With Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess joining the fray, Xbox fans have yet another game to look forward to on the subscription service.

In the trailer for the new Xbox Game Pass game, a priestess is seen bowing towards a shrine as unidentified creatures fly around the area. Suddenly, a samurai-like man jumps in front of the priestess to defend her with his sword. As he strikes the creatures, his sword lights up with a pink energy that transforms them back into humans.

The game takes players to a darker area accessed through a portal, where they are guided by grotesque-looking creatures based on Japanese folklore and Yokai myths. These creatures continuously spawn from a gate, with one that is notably twice the size of the player character.

Players can battle against these creatures by teaming up with purified humans in a hack-and-slash style combat, akin to Devil May Cry. The player's party will unleash flashy special attacks to aid them in these battles. The trailer concludes with the priestess and other practitioners purifying the area, closing the demonic gate and restoring the beautiful Japanese landscapes that were previously overrun by evil spirits. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is presently in the development stage.
