Initially aligning himself with the humorless Stannis Baratheon during The War of the Five Kings, Davos switches sides after witnessing the Red Woman, Melisandre, burn Princess Shireen. This change leads him to form a strong partnership with Jon, as both share a deep sense of duty and commitment to doing what is right.
