The Strategy Unveiled: An In-depth Look at Langston's Plan in Reacher Season 2

Unravel the nefarious plot of Robert Langston, the corrupt security director of New Age in Reacher Season 2 Discover his sinister motives and delve into the depths of his malevolent plan

Season 2 of Reacher on Prime Video has taken a significant turn in Episode 5, as Shane Langston's plan and its potential consequences are finally unveiled. Since the first episode of the season, Jack Reacher and his former military unit have been on a quest for answers, trying to uncover the mystery behind the targeted killings of the 110th members.

Reacher and his ex-army buddies are focusing their investigation on Shane Langston, who is the head of security at defense contractor New Age. Their former teammate Tony Swan is also involved in the conspiracy.

So, what is Langston's plan in Reacher Season 2? Here's a breakdown of what we know so far and why it's important to stop him. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Langston is as dirty and corrupt as they come

Through his position at New Age, Langston wants to install Little Wing technology in missiles created by the company to sell to shady overseas buyers. In return? A big payday.

Reacher and David O’Donnell start to uncover Langston’s plan in Episode 4 of Reacher Season 2 when they question Boyd about Little Wing. Boyd reveals that it is a codename for new missile software originally designed for protecting commercial aircraft, but that New Age realized it could be adapted to be used in missiles and made smaller.

In practical terms, this means that missiles equipped with Little Wing could evade any countermeasures. A missile launched from the ground would appear to miss its target, tricking an aircraft into believing the threat had been eliminated, before changing course to attack its target again, undetected.

Langston’s plan in Reacher Season 2 explained

Langston has been masterminding the entire operation from the beginning. In Episode 5 of Reacher Season 2, Russo reveals to Reacher that Langston used to be a member of the NYPD's 3rd Precinct, involved in a group of corrupt cops. Langston and his associates were the focus of an internal affairs investigation that mysteriously fell apart, leading them to retire early. They all landed high-paying positions at New Age, with Langston as the leader.

Langston's strategy includes commandeering a shipment of 650 missiles and launchers from New Age and retrofitting them with Little Wing technology. The weaponry is then passed on to AM, a secretive private contractor who acts as an intermediary for buyers. The connection between AM, Reacher, and 110th remains unclear.

Tony Swan, a former member of the team at New Age working alongside Langston, may have become aware of the plan and could have either tried to stop it or become involved. Stream Reacher Season 2 Episodes 1-5 on Prime Video now and sign up for it here. Check out more Reacher coverage below.
