The Shocking Truth Behind Gojo's Dark Past Revealed by Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 has finally kicked off the Shibuya Incident Arc's battles, and the initial clash has revealed that Satoru Gojo cannot be regarded as a hero. In episode #8, Getou Suguru executes a brilliant yet ruthless plan to neutralize Gojo by capitalizing on the civilians celebrating Halloween to weaken and distract him. However, the villains underestimated the power of the strongest Jujutsu sorcerer.

In episode #8 of Jujutsu Kaisen, it is revealed that Geto had two main objectives when he covered the shopping district of Shibuya, trapping the civilians: to draw out Gojo and to use the civilians to divert his attention. Geto anticipated that the three special grade curses alone would not be sufficient to defeat Gojo, so he aimed to compel Gojo to protect the people and engage in battle. However, after considering his options, Gojo simply withdraws before the curses can strike him. Frustrated and shocked, Jogo murders a nearby civilian, yet Gojo appears indifferent to the unfolding massacre. The episode concludes with Gojo proclaiming that his adversaries are not formidable enough, rendering their schemes futile. While Gojo has always possessed a dark side, his merciless actions in this instance take it to a whole new level.

Consequently, they are revered as heroes for venturing their lives in the line of duty. Gojo Satoru, the most formidable sorcerer to have ever existed, has saved countless lives. However, this episode reveals that he is far from being a traditional hero. In fact, a glimpse into Gojo's brutal and tragic past shows that he has also witnessed the darkness within humanity, which has shaped his pragmatic and occasionally ruthless approach towards life.

Despite being a loving and compassionate man who adores his students, it is surprising to witness Gojo's lack of concern towards the plight of helpless individuals being killed. This starkly contrasts with the values of Yuji Itadori, Gojo's student, who cherishes life above all else, and Megumi, who unwaveringly defends innocent people. Gojo's exceptional strategic skills might have led him to believe that the most effective way to save civilian lives is by swiftly eliminating the villains. This particular aspect of Gojo's character distinguishes him and enhances the complexity of one of Jujutsu Kaisen's most intriguing personalities.
