Fans of virtual Youtubers (vtubers) are likely familiar with Hololive, the leading corporation in the vtubing industry. The Hololive community is known for their inside jokes, including the CEO of Cover Corp, Hololive's parent company, who is affectionately referred to as YAGOO in memes. HoloCure, a free game inspired by Vampire Survivors and featuring the talents of the company, also includes references to the Hololive community's memes, including YAGOO.
In HoloCure, there are special enemy units called Silver and Golden YAGOOs. These enemies are not hostile towards the player, and attacking them can result in special prizes that can benefit the player's current game and overall progress in HoloCure. Players should be aware of these units and familiarize themselves with the mechanics and rewards associated with them in case they appear during a game session.
HoloCure: Silver YAGOOs Explained
The more common YAGOO enemy unit is the Silver YAGOO, which has a 30% chance to appear during a player's run. Silver YAGOOs usually appear around the 3-minute, 9-minute, and 18-minute marks on any of the in-game maps, although the timing may vary slightly (plus or minus a minute).
The Silver YAGOO has a relatively high amount of HP compared to other enemy units. If not defeated within 25 seconds, it will disappear. However, if the player successfully defeats the Silver YAGOO, they will receive a stamp as a reward.
Stamps in HoloCure are drops that enemies can potentially yield, offering a range of advantages to a character's initial weapon throughout the gameplay. A weapon can accommodate up to three stamps simultaneously, and any additional stamps acquired beyond this limit can be exchanged, utilized to enhance an existing weapon, or traded for HoloCoins.
HoloCure: Golden YAGOOs Explained
In comparison to the 30% probability of Silver YAGOOs appearing, Golden YAGOOs only have a 20% chance of spawning during any given run. Similar to their silver counterparts, Golden YAGOOs can emerge at specified times on each map, usually around the 5-minute or 15-minute mark, and if they appear during the latter half of a run, they offer additional rewards.
Golden YAGOOs possess a significantly larger HP pool than Silver YAGOOs. To claim a reward, players must once again vanquish them within a timeframe of 25 seconds. On being defeated, Golden YAGOOs will yield a Holozon Box, akin to the packages discharged by adversary bosses, along with a maximum of 3,000 HoloCoins.
