Reese Witherspoon revealed in a December 2021 interview with Extra that she and Jennifer Aniston are thrilled about the upcoming season and enjoy their collaboration. They have a long-standing friendship and being able to work together in a significant capacity is a dream come true for them.
The Legally Blonde actress had a notion that it would take some time before the cast would come together again for season 3.
"[Jennifer] is currently wrapping up a film with Adam Sandler, so it will take a little while, but then we will jump right into it. ... We will give the audience what they desire," she explained. Witherspoon and Aniston portray Bradley Jackson and Alex Levy, the news anchors at the heart of the beloved drama.
Aniston expressed uncertainty about reprising her role as Alex in a November 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. In the second season, her character faced difficulties as she navigated being in the public eye while grieving for Mitch (played by Steve Carell) and contracting COVID-19.
"At this moment, it's difficult for me to even imagine," the former Friends star shared with the publication. "You know how mothers sometimes experience a mental block after giving birth, saying 'I could never do that again!' Well, I'm experiencing a similar moment of uncertainty, questioning if I could ever do it again. So, we'll have to wait and see."
The Emmy winner hopes for a change in tone in future seasons, desiring more humor. Additionally, showrunner Kerry Ehrin commented on the limitless possibilities for the show.
“In November 2021," she stated, "you have the option to travel 10 years ahead or go back in time. It's a fascinating little world. You can truly set it in any point in history, and the show's challenge lies in finding that significant theme. These themes are not made up; they are drawn from our lives and have a profound impact on all of us. That's always the show's challenge."
The Morning Show's third season is scheduled to premiere in the autumn. In May 2023, the series was renewed in advance for its fourth season.

The fall will see the premiere of Season 3 of The Morning Show. In May 2023, the series was granted an early renewal for Season 4.

Alex Rises Like a Phoenix
"I sense a new beginning for Alex, as if she has finally arrived at a place of self-acceptance and confronting her deepest fears," expressed Ehrin in November 2021 when discussing Aniston's character's development in the second season’s finale. "I am eager to witness the rejuvenation of her spirit, how she rises from the ashes, and learns to embrace a fulfilling existence filled with presence and love. Although they may not appear as compelling plot elements, these facets form the foundation of my storytelling: delving into the character's inner world and eagerly anticipating the next chapter of their journey. Mitch Is Dead — But Not Gone
Though Mitch has passed away, Valerie Golino's character Paola is determined to continue with her documentary. Despite the loss, Paola shows no signs of giving up on the project. In a November 2021 interview with Deadline, Ehrin hinted that the documentary might resurface, keeping the audience intrigued.

Laura and Bradley and Cory's Love Triangle
"I'm definitely eager for more screen time featuring Bradley and Laura," Ehrin expressed to Deadline. Laura (played by Julianna Marguiles) extended an invitation to Bradley to join her in quarantine in Montana, but in an unexpected twist, Cory (portrayed by Billy Crudup) confessed his love for Bradley in the season finale. Sadly, he didn't receive a response from the journalist due to her brother's hospitalization, leaving viewers in suspense regarding her true feelings.

Season 3 Is Official
The Morning Show has been officially renewed for a third season on Apple TV+ in January 2022. Charlotte Stroud will be stepping in as the new showrunner, replacing Ehrin. However, Ehrin will continue to contribute as a consultant.
