Highlights
Kashin Koji, a clone of Jiraiya, has returned in Boruto and seems to have a connection with Boruto Uzumaki.
Kashin Koji's current location remains unknown, although he played a crucial part in foiling Jigen's plans and confronting Isshiki. If he were to make a comeback, it could signify his intention to mentor Boruto and aid in the mastery of advanced techniques like Sage Mode.
Kashin Koji, a mysterious character in the Boruto series, initially played a significant role in the story as a member of Kara. However, he disappeared after his battle with Isshiki, leaving fans uncertain about his fate. It was later revealed that Kashin Koji had an important role to fulfill on a special mission.
Regrettably, Kashin Koji was absent for the latter part of Boruto Part 1. But to the astonishment of fans, he has made a comeback. What's even more surprising is his apparent connection with Boruto Uzumaki, the series' protagonist, leading to speculation that the two are currently working together.
Who is Kashin Koji?
Kashin Koji is essentially a clone of Jiraiya, one of the Legendary Sannin. Jiraiya was a renowned ninja from Konoha who tragically died in a battle against Pain. His death held great significance in Naruto, driving the protagonist to grow stronger and pursue true peace. When Kashin Koji emerged as Jiraiya's clone, it surprised fans who recognized the similarities between the two characters. Despite being a clone, Koji found himself following Jiraiya's path as a warrior, evidenced by his fight against Isshiki.
Kashin Koji's Whereabouts
Kashin Koji also held a special connection with Konoha and even Naruto Uzumaki. It was inevitable that he would have a significant role in the story and become involved in the plotlines surrounding Boruto Uzumaki. From the very start, he closely observed Boruto once he discovered that Boruto was the one entrusted with Momoshiki's karma.Despite being a member of Kara, Kashin Koji pursued his own mission, actively working to thwart Jigen's plans. Joining forces with Amado, these two characters devised a flawless plan to bring about the demise of the godly being. After Amado defected from the Kara base and sought refuge in Konoha, Koji came face-to-face with Jigen in a vulnerable state. Seeing the opportune moment, Koji engaged in battle with the intention of eliminating him. The outcome was predictable as Koji effortlessly dominated the fight, forcing Jigen to reveal his true form and unleash Isshiki through the power of Karma.
When that occurred, it was only a matter of time before Koji started being surpassed. Despite relying on the power of the Sage Mode, it proved insufficient to elevate him to Isshiki's level. He was utterly defeated and could have perished, but he clung to life like a true shinobi and managed to escape. Since then, Koji has been completely absent from Boruto. His whereabouts remain a mystery, and even now, fans are unaware of his exact location. However, if one were to speculate, it is possible that he is currently residing in Mount Myoboku, a revered Sage Institution where both Jiraiya and Naruto have spent a considerable portion of their lives.
Did Boruto Train With Kashin Koji?
To the amazement of fans, there is a possibility of Kashin Koji's reappearance in Boruto Two Blue Vortex. In chapter 3 of the manga, Boruto Uzumaki engaged in an intriguing battle against Code. Utilizing his newfound techniques, he swiftly defeated his opponent within mere seconds.
In Boruto chapter 3, Boruto demonstrated his superior power and strength, indicating a significant boost in his abilities. Although his initial intention was to kill Code, he spared him in order to be led to the 10 Tails. Unfortunately, Code managed to escape by the end of the chapter.
The situation took a turn when it was revealed that Boruto had secretly placed a toad on Code. Fans familiar with caution Koji recognized that the toad resembled the ones Koji used to spy on the Uzumaki household in the past. This strongly suggests that Kashin Koji and Boruto Uzumaki have crossed paths during the time skip. The details of their meeting and the circumstances surrounding it remain a mystery. However, considering Koji's immense strength, it is likely that these two characters trained together. With guidance from both Sasuke and Koji, Boruto excelled in different aspects, ultimately becoming the formidable force he is today.
How Kashin Koji Will Help Boruto
Kashin Koji's assistance to Boruto will be significant in multiple ways. One notable way is through his training. While Sasuke is an exceptional instructor, each teacher specializes in different areas. Sasuke excels in hand-to-hand combat and swordplay, as well as teaching Boruto about nature transformations.
Under Koji's guidance, Boruto will have the opportunity to learn entirely new techniques, including Sage Mode. Recently, Boruto demonstrated a newfound technique called Rasengan Uzuhiko. This technique allowed him to utilize the planet's rotation and planetary chakra to inflict permanent damage on his enemies. Code, for instance, was disoriented to the point of being unable to stand after being struck by it. This technique is clearly a creation that came to fruition during Boruto's time spent training with Koji. By tapping into the planet's chakra, Boruto exhibits similarities to Senjutsu, clearly indicating the influence of his training with Koji.
Boruto, being young and in need of guidance in life, can rely on Koji to fulfill this role now that Naruto is no longer present. Koji being a guardian to Boruto could potentially cultivate a strong relationship between the two characters. Fans can hope for Boruto's continuous improvement and the possibility of witnessing their teamwork in the future of Two Blue Vortex.
Fans can read Boruto through Viz Media, officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter, Boruto Part 2 chapter 3, is scheduled for October 20, 2023.
