However, if she continues to fixate solely on death, Ahsoka will ultimately meet her demise. Anakin, whether embodying a Force ghost or simply a manifestation of Ahsoka's own psyche, had to shatter this mindset within her.
Rather than remaining in the ease and familiarity of the training bestowed upon her by Anakin, Ahsoka took the necessary leap to surpass him. Opting not to end Anakin's life, she instead discarded her lightsaber, choosing to embrace her own existence. By ceasing to engage in combat, she shed her sole identity as a warrior.
Ahsoka's decision here mirrors Luke Skywalker's choice during his confrontation with Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi.
