Jodie Foster found her biggest supporter in her wife, Alexandra Hedison.
One year before the couple wed, Foster declared she was single during the 2013 Golden Globes.
During her speech accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award, she expressed a sudden urge to reveal something she had never said in public before. She nervously declared, "I am single! Yes I am, I’m kidding. I’m not really kidding, but kind of."
She also took the opportunity to publicly acknowledge her ex, Cydney Bernard, with whom she shares sons Charlie and Kit.
After the actress revealed she was in a new relationship, Foster was spotted going on dates with Hedison eight months later. They were seen together multiple times before they quietly got married the next year.

Hedison congratulated Foster on her Golden Globe nomination with a heartfelt tribute.
She expressed her pride in her wife every day, but took to Instagram to give her a special shout out.
In her post, she mentioned that what happens in quarantine stays in quarantine, and declared that she was shouting from the rooftops to celebrate Foster's achievement.
She also extended her congratulations to Tahar Rahim and everyone involved in the film "The Mauritanian."
March 2021
Hedison was there to support Foster during the virtual Golden Globes ceremony. Foster won Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Mauritanian and gave Hedison a sweet kiss before accepting her award online.
"Surprise behind the scenes! You did it!" Hedison posted on Instagram with a video of them watching the show on their computer. "I'm always proud of you, but today was extra special fun!️"
