Harold Perrineau has shared a hopeful but realistic update on the highly anticipated season 3 of From, an original MGM+ series. From revolves around a nightmarish town where the residents are plagued by tormenting visions and deadly monsters that emerge at night. Perrineau portrays Boyd Stevens, the town sheriff who strives to safeguard its inhabitants and unravel the town's enigmatic nature, desperately seeking an escape route.
Despite the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America and the absence of an official renewal for From season 3, Perrineau remains upbeat about the show's future. He acknowledges the growing attention the series has garnered and shares his optimistic outlook. Read his comments below:
I have no updates on the writers strike and its current status. I fully support and applaud the writers for fighting for their needs. I hope for a resolution soon so that we can all resume work. Although we haven't received an official pickup, it is assumed that we will continue once the situation settles down. Our show has been successful and gaining popularity. It's exciting to receive calls from old acquaintances who have seen the show and even reconnecting with Alec Baldwin, whom I previously worked with. It seems like something is happening and I'm confident we will be picked up. However, the exact timing depends on the resolution of other matters. Once everything is resolved, we'll dive right back into work with full enthusiasm.
How From Became "The Little Show That Could"
From's success is a testament to the series' quality and positive word of mouth. It has been compared to Lost, with some considering it a worthy spiritual successor. It strikes a perfect balance between exploring its characters' humanity and captivating mysteries. From features a talented ensemble cast, led by Perrineau, who was also part of Lost's talented ensemble. The quality acting and character-driven drama give the mysteries a significant impact.
What sets From apart from Lost is its embrace of the horror genre. Stephen King, known for his own acclaimed horror stories, has praised From as terrifying. His enthusiastic tweets about the series have helped to generate more interest in it. From is just as unsettling as the best of King's stories, as it tackles timeless themes of fear, good and evil, faith, and the individual versus the community. Perrineau's remarks indicate that King is not the only celebrity who has become fascinated with the show.
Season 2 concluded with a cliffhanger that brought significant changes for all the main characters. With the writers' strike expected to come to an end, there is a strong possibility of the series getting renewed for a third season. This would allow for further development, with a focus on maintaining the successful elements while also exploring a broader storyline after the shocking conclusion of Tabitha's arc.
