Narissa was a member of the Zhat Vash, a fanatical faction of the Romulan Tal Shiar secret police known for their irrational hatred of artificial life forms. In 2385, Narissa was part of the Conclave of Eight, led by General Nadar, who infiltrated Starfleet as Commodore Oh and became the head of Starfleet Security. As Starfleet Lieutenant Rizzo, Narissa orchestrated the murder of Dahj and sent her brother, Narek, to the Borg Cube Artifact to extract information from Dahj's twin sister, Soji Asha. Eventually, Narissa was responsible for the killing of Hugh and was ultimately defeated by Seven of Nine in the season finale of Picard season 1.
