Uzo Aduba is counting down the days until she becomes a mom — and husband Robert Sweeting is waiting on her hand and foot in the meantime.
According to an exclusive source in the latest edition of We, Ryan has been incredibly caring and attentive towards Uzo. He ensures that she has everything she needs, whether it's a comforting cup of tea or a supportive pillow for her back. In fact, he even prepares breakfast for her, allowing her to stay in bed for longer periods.
Uzo Aduba, who recently revealed her baby bump at the Tony Awards on June 11, is overjoyed to share this news with everyone. The source shares that both Uzo and Ryan are filled with gratitude and excitement as they eagerly anticipate the arrival of their first child, further expanding their loving family.
In an Instagram post, the Orange Is the New Black alum expressed her joy and excitement about becoming parents alongside her husband Robert. The couple revealed the pregnancy news at a Broadway event in New York City. Aduba expressed her anticipation and gratitude for the opportunity to be someone's mommy, emphasizing that their paramount goal as a family of three will be to love and cherish their little one. Reflecting on their journey, Aduba marveled at what God has accomplished.
Having married in secret in September 2020, Aduba and Sweeting announced their union to the public a year later. In September 2021, the actress took to social media to commemorate their first wedding anniversary by sharing a selfie from their wedding day.
"When you come to the realization that you want to spend the entirety of your existence with someone, you yearn for that new chapter to commence as soon as possible," she expressed via Instagram, drawing inspiration from the timeless 1989 movie When Harry Met Sally. "For some of us, it can feel as though we have spent our entire lives waiting for our significant other. My heart, my love — I am elated that my journey began with you last year. You are the greatest blessing I have ever received. ❤️"
Following their delightful trip to Mexico that very same month, Aduba proceeded to divulge the enchanting details of her momentous occasion whilst appearing on Live With Kelly and Ryan.
In November 2021, Aduba revealed their reasons for keeping their nuptials a secret, stating that they wanted to enjoy their time together and have some peace and quiet. She humorously mentioned that they relied heavily on Amazon and Etsy while planning their wedding amidst the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent quarantine.
To celebrate their one-year anniversary in September 2021, Sweeting posted a heartfelt photo of the couple during a vacation. He expressed his admiration for his wife, describing her as gorgeous, talented, and incredible. He also highlighted the valuable lesson they learned about finding joy and peace in each other during a time when the world seemed chaotic. Sweeting concluded by expressing his pride in being Aduba's husband and wished her a happy anniversary with the hashtag #happyanniversary.
While Aduba and her partner have mostly kept their love life private, she did share some insights into their holiday traditions during an interview with E! News in November 2022.
According to the actress, a newer tradition that has developed since they have been together is the family coming together for Thanksgiving. She mentioned that their Thanksgiving celebration is a blend of American and Nigerian cuisine, reflecting her Nigerian heritage. Aduba also expressed her love and appreciation for her partner on Father's Day, expressing her confidence in his abilities as a father and thanking him for his support throughout their journey.
