What are Whispers of the Dead in Diablo 4?

Players who have completed the main storyline of Diablo 4 may recognize the name of this activity - it involves the Tree of Whispers situated in Hawezar. Following the defeat of Elias and presenting his head as payment, the deceased Horadrim becomes a persistent source of irritation as one of the many talking heads adorning the Tree. However, upon completing the main questline and revisiting the Tree, players will discover a fresh objective to tackle.

After agreeing to the Tree of Whispers' request, players will notice new icons on the map denoting active Whispers that are accessible for a limited time. These tasks can vary from defeating a specific quantity of foes to exploring and clearing out dungeons and cellars.

Whispers of the Dead Rewards in Diablo 4

By successfully finishing the different Whispers, players can earn a variety of Grim Favors based on the type. Once they accumulate 10 Grim Favors, they can return to the Tree of Whispers to claim valuable rewards.

When you have 10 or more Grim Favors, head over to the Tree of Whispers and interact with it. The Tree will offer you three choices for a reward, each tailored to a specific equipment slot. The options include gems, gold, crafting materials, and a substantial XP boost. Occasionally, you may even receive Legendary Grand Caches or other high-level gear, making Whispers of the Dead an outstanding endgame activity to participate in.
