The Golden Bachelor: Why Bachelor Nation Can't Afford to Miss It!

Andrew Spencer’s mother vies for a spot on ABC’s senior ‘Bachelor’ spinoff, 'The Golden Bachelor', following his appearance on 'The Bachelorette' two years ago Discover if viewers plan to tune in to witness this family affair

The premiere of The Golden Bachelor is approaching, and it's ABC's senior spinoff that aims to assist 71-year-old Gerry Turner in finding a companion to spend the later years of life with. Alumni from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are expressing their support for this new addition to the franchise. Jordan Rodgers, during an exclusive interview with his wife JoJo Fletcher, stated, "I believe it is the best thing they have done. I was genuinely thrilled when I heard about it."

JoJo, who was the season 12 Bachelorette, added, “I am excited and I will be watching!”

Gerry, a widower from Iowa, has been chosen by the network to be the next rose distributor, as announced on July 17. Season 20 Bachelor, Ben Higgins, expressed his aspiration of hosting the new show earlier in April.

"I don't have high expectations for the show. It's been years since I asked for anything. However, I want to make it clear that if they need someone, I'm not trying to replace Jesse Palmer. I just want to be there, perhaps as a medicine distributor or someone who assists with pill selection, not as a bartender. Ben expressed this to Us."

During Gerry's appearance on GMA on Monday, he mentioned receiving a call from Jesse. Jesse took on the hosting responsibilities for Bachelor Nation in 2021, replacing Chris Harrison.

The cast for the new show of the franchise has not yet been announced, but Andrew Spencer, who was a contestant on Bachelorette season 17, revealed that his mother expressed interest in participating, much to his dismay. Speaking on the latest episode of Us' "Here for the Right Reasons" podcast, where he recapped week three of Charity Lawson's season, Andrew expressed his gratitude for the Bachelor shows and his viewership. However, he admitted that he did not come across the sign-ups and could not bear the thought of watching his mom engage in intimate moments with someone else. He remarked, "I would rather put bleach in my eyes than watch my mom making out with someone."
