Although this deviates from audience's expectations of a Lando series, releasing it as a movie could be a more sensible direction. In a conversation with Pablo Torre on his YouTube channel PABLO TORRE FINDS OUT, Glover revealed his intentions to transform Lando into a movie rather than a TV show.

Glover acknowledges that such plans are subject to change, especially with the current Writers Guild of America strike, but shows remarkable enthusiasm toward this possibility.

Donald Glover's Lando Deserves A Movie, Not A TV Show

A movie featuring Donald Glover's Lando is far more enticing than a TV show. Although some of the Star Wars shows on Disney+ have been impressive, many have lacked in quality, particularly those centered around an already established character. Initially intended as a film, Obi-Wan Kenobi was elongated into a television series, resulting in pacing issues and unnecessary moments. The Book of Boba Fett encountered a similar predicament, heavily relying on flashbacks and characters from The Mandalorian to fill its seven-episode duration. It is possible that Lando may fall into the same trap as a TV show on Disney+.

Despite the general rule, there are exceptions, such as the highly praised Andor. With the largest episode count among live-action Star Wars shows, this works well due to its focus on Cassian Andor and the Rebellion as a whole. Likewise, Ahsoka benefits from being a continuation of The Clone Wars and Rebels, justifying its eight-episode runtime with multiple characters and plotlines. However, it would be more beneficial for Lando to be made into a movie, enabling the filmmakers to concentrate the budget and streamline the character's story.
