Apple Original Films recently announced the release date for their upcoming spy comedy, The Family Plan, and also treated fans with two fresh images from the movie. Starting December 15, The Family Plan will be available for streaming on Apple TV+. This comedic thriller features Mark Wahlberg as a former assassin, who is now on the run from dangerous men from his dark past, while his unsuspecting family unknowingly believes they are on a vacation. Alongside Wahlberg, the star-studded cast includes Michelle Monaghan, Saïd Taghmaoui, Maggie Q, Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Ciarán Hinds, Miles Doleac, and Joyner Lucas.
In the newly unveiled images from The Family Plan, we see Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan portraying a married couple. The first image captures a heartwarming moment as Wahlberg and Monaghan's characters exchange smiles, with Monaghan holding their baby. Wahlberg's shirt carries a nametag that reads "Dan." The second still shows the family at the core of the film, exiting a building, hands raised in surrender. Monaghan's character glances towards her husband, who holds their baby, wearing a forced smile concealing hidden anxiety.
The feature seems perfect for Wahlberg. Despite his famous roles in The Departed, The Italian Job, and Boogie Nights, he is also recognized for his comedic performances in Ted, Daddy's Home, and Daddy's Home 2. It will definitely be intriguing to witness him portray a father of three who endeavors to give "his unsuspecting wife, angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son, and adorable 10-month-old baby" the ultimate vacation experience while safeguarding them from perilous threats, as stated in the official synopsis.
Who Else Is Involved With 'The Family Plan?'
Directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by David Coggeshall, The Family Plan is a film produced by Skydance and Apple Studios. Serving as producers are Wahlberg, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Stephen Levinson, with John G. Scotti acting as executive producer. Rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, sexual material, and some strong language, a trailer for The Family Plan is expected to be released soon. Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z netizen, I am eagerly anticipating the release of "The Family Plan" on Apple TV+. The action comedy genre is one that I particularly enjoy, and the addition of Mark Wahlberg to the cast makes it even more appealing. Wahlberg has proven his versatility as an actor, and I am excited to see him take on the role of a former assassin who must protect his family from danger.
The first-look images from the movie reveal a heartwarming dynamic between Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan's characters, and I am intrigued to see how their relationship develops amidst the chaos and danger that ensues. The fact that the family is unaware of the true nature of their vacation adds an extra layer of suspense and humor to the story. Overall, "The Family Plan" seems like a promising film that combines action, comedy, and family drama, and I will definitely be adding it to my watchlist on December 15th.
