Presently, One Piece is immersed in the captivating climax of the egghead arc, where an intense war unfolds between the Navy and the Straw Hat Pirates. In the preceding chapters, the Navy successfully reaches Egghead and surrounds it entirely, determined to accomplish their mission of vanquishing Dr. Vegapunk and triumphing over the Straw Hat Pirates.
The Egghead War Begins
The war has commenced in this chapter, marking the pinnacle of the Egghead Island arc. As Admiral Kizaru joins the fray, dangers intensify for both the crew and fans, as depicted in One Piece chapter 1091. The Navy, determined to crush Egghead, launches a relentless onslaught, foretelling even greater levels of intensity up ahead. In the previous chapter, Kizaru effortlessly infiltrated Egghead Island, prompting Sentomaru to command the Pacifistas to attack the Navy ships. One Piece chapter 1091 unveiled the immense power of Vegapunk's mechanized sea beasts, revealing their capacity to devastate Navy vessels with ease, rivaling the formidable Sea Kings. Dealing with these creatures proved to be a daunting task for the lower-ranked marines, leading to the intervention of the Vice Admirals. This further highlights the formidable nature of Vegapunk's creations, indicating that those below the rank of Vice Admiral would likely struggle against these mechanized sea beasts.
From the Navy's perspective, fans witnessed several Vice Admirals joining Egghead, making their move. One notable Vice Admiral, who sported a bald head, showcased an ability named Steam Knuckle, reminiscent of Zephyr's Smash Buster from Film Z. It seems that Oda might have drawn inspiration from Zephyr while creating this particular Vice Admiral. Notably, fans got a glimpse of Doll's combat prowess. She displayed a fighting style centered around powerful kicks. Utilizing the Moon Walk technique to reach the island, she effortlessly took down a Sea King with a single kick, highlighting her immense strength. As the Marines prepare to launch their counterattack, the inevitable arrival on land draws closer, with Admiral Kizaru serving as their greatest asset.
Kizaru Vs Sentomaru
The clash between Kizaru and Sentomaru captivated fans in the latest chapter, fulfilling their long-standing desire for a full-fledged confrontation. Unlike Oda's tendency to gloss over battles, this time he granted fans a genuine glimpse into the melee. Although brief, the encounter turned out to be highly charged with emotions. While Kizaru was undeniably destined to emerge victorious, Sentomaru put up an impressive fight. He bravely withstood a relentless assault from the Admiral, exhibiting his formidable Haki by parrying one of Kizaru's kicks and deftly evading the onslaught of Yasakani no Magatama. Remarkably, Sentomaru even managed to inflict some damage on Kizaru with his devastating Ashigara Dokkoi attack.
The highlight of the fight was Oda's inclusion of a brief flashback featuring Sentomaru. This unexpected glimpse into Kizaru's emotional side was a first for fans who have not seen much of his sentimental capacity throughout the series. The flashback depicted a time when Vegapunk and Kizaru were assigned to handle a bear attack in a village. To everyone's surprise, the bears had already been dealt with by a young boy named Sentomaru. With no place to go and no food to eat, Sentomaru became Vegapunk's bodyguard in exchange for his needs being met. Kizaru was asked to train Sentomaru to ensure Vegapunk's protection, establishing a strong bond between the two. However, their opposing sides now prioritize their respective missions, causing Kizaru to ultimately overpower Sentomaru and redirect his attention to the Labophase.
Chaos In The Labophase
Immediately following Sentomaru's defeat, the tides turned in favor of the Marines. Kizaru, displaying intelligence, seized control of the Pacifista chip, commanding them to align with the Navy and submerge the mechanized sea creatures. The Pacifistas swiftly followed suit, opening a path for the Marines to infiltrate Egghead. With the Fabriophase secured, Kizaru turned his attention to the Labophase, the current location of the Straw Hat Pirates and Vegapunk. Utilizing his light-based abilities, he effortlessly maneuvered through the Frontier Dome, an obstacle erected by York to impede their escape. Upon Kizaru's entry, Luffy immediately perceived the newfound threat, while Vegapunk also became fully aware of the Marine's presence. Chaos erupted in the entirety of Labophase as an onslaught ensued.
As expected of his character, One Piece 1091 witnessed Lucci's betrayal once again, as he attempted to assassinate Vegapunk. However, Stussy selflessly shielded him with her own body. Reacting swiftly, Zoro launched an attack, forcing Lucci to block with his leg. The confrontation between the two spilled outside the laboratory, and their conflict will continue in the forthcoming chapter. Meanwhile, Sanji displayed quick thinking, trapping Kaku in a bubble, effectively removing him from the combat scenario. In parallel, Atlas and Stella dedicated their efforts to deciphering the code of the Frontier Dome, but it appears that more time will be needed to crack its secrets.
Luffy Vs Kizaru Begins
One Piece chapter 1091 concluded with a thrilling showdown between Kizaru and the Straw Hat ship as it headed towards the coast. Aware of the danger, Luffy immediately left Vegaforce to confront the Admiral he hadn't seen in two years. Now an Emperor of the Sea, Luffy possesses strength surpassing Kizaru's, evident as he swiftly attacked with a formidable kick. To defend himself, Kizaru was forced to quickly react, indicating that Luffy's strike may have been infused with the Color of the Supreme King.
Despite this intense exchange, Kizaru maintained his usual nonchalant demeanor. Luffy made it clear that the Straw Hat Pirates were no longer the same as two years ago; they have grown stronger and are capable of facing off against Kizaru and even defeating the Navy. The tragic events of Sabaody would not repeat themselves this time. Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Luffy and his crew emerge victorious. However, the anticipation will be prolonged as the series goes on a break after this chapter, leaving readers waiting for the exciting chapters to come.
