The Epic Return of Ahsoka: How She Could Resurrect Star Wars Rebels' Ultimate Hero

Ahsoka embarks on a captivating journey to Lothal, where the enigmatic Loth-Wolves hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of the Force Will she encounter Dume, the legendary Loth-Wolf, and uncover the secrets that could shape the fate of Star Wars Rebels' final hero?

Summary

Kanan Jarrus, a dynamic Jedi Knight and hero of the Rebellion, could make a comeback in the upcoming live-action Ahsoka series.

In the new Ahsoka show, returning to Lothal may offer a chance to witness Dume, the Loth-wolf, who represents Kanan's spirit in the afterlife. Observing Dume or the Loth-wolf pack in live-action would be the ultimate way to feel Kanan's essence.

The animated show Rebels has recently transitioned many of its cast members to live-action in Star Wars. However, there is a possibility for the final hero, Ahsoka, to bring back Kanan Jarrus in a satisfying manner. Kanan, also known as Caleb Dume, was a pivotal figure in leading The Ghost crew and mentoring Jedi Ezra Bridger. He was one of the few Jedi Knights who survived Order 66 at the end of the Clone Wars, and went on to become a celebrated hero of the Rebellion. Despite sacrificing his life during the Liberation of Lothal, Kanan's story did not necessarily end, even after Ahsoka dissuaded Ezra from using time travel to save him. Therefore, there remains a chance for Kanan to make an appearance in the live-action Ahsoka series.

Ahsoka Features A Return To Lothal - The World Of The Loth-Wolves

In the Ahsoka trailers, it is revealed that the former Jedi is returning to Lothal, which is Ezra's homeworld. Since his defeat of Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ezra has been missing and Lothal has been protected by Sabine. Ahsoka plans to recruit Sabine for a mission to find Thrawn and, hopefully, Ezra. However, there is also a presence of mysterious and Force-connected creatures called the Loth-wolves on Lothal.

During the Liberation of Lothal, Kanan had an encounter with a group of these unique Loth-wolves. They aided him through the Force, especially during his final mission to rescue Hera and emancipate his loved ones from the Empire. Later, Ezra also encountered this pack of Loth-wolves, who helped him and his allies free Lothal from the Empire's control. Among them, there was one noticeably larger wolf with the name Caleb Dume.

Will Ahsoka Feature A Glimpse Of Dume The Loth-Wolf

Dume the Loth-wolf is believed to be a manifestation of Jarrus' will by the Cosmic Force, a theory supported by Ahsoka. According to showrunner Dave Filoni, Dume came into existence only after Kanan's death, suggesting that the wolf serves as a unique method of preserving the spirit beyond the traditional Force ghost. With this in mind, it would be truly captivating to witness Dume or any of the Loth-wolf pack in live-action when Ahsoka makes her return to Lothal. This would undoubtedly be the most fulfilling and impactful way for Kanan's presence to be experienced in the upcoming Ahsoka series.

Don't miss the premiere of episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka, available on Disney+ starting August 23.
