On November 30, 2023, The Blue Wolves of Mibu anime team revealed Chiaki Kobayashi as their newest cast member. Known for his role as Gabimaru in Hell’s Paradise, Kobayashi's announcement was shared with the anime and manga community on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Created by Tsuyoshi Yasuda, The Blue Wolves of Mibu is an ongoing manga series that debuted in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine.

Chiaki Kobayashi has been confirmed to join the cast as Hajime Saito in the anime adaptation of The Blue Wolves of Mibu. Known for his roles as Gabimaru in Hell’s Paradise, Mash Burnedead in Mashle: Magic and Muscles, and Rinnosuke Nanayosghi in Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens, Kobayashi brings his talent as a voice actor to the role. Additionally, Shuichiro Umeda will be joining the cast as Nio Chirinu.

The Blue Wolves of Mibu is a tale set in 1863 in the scenic Kyoto region of Japan. It follows the story of a compassionate young boy named Nio, who possesses a strong sense of justice that can sometimes lead to violent reactions. After encountering two members of the ronin group Miburo, Souji Okita and Toshizou Hijakata, Nio's life takes a dramatic turn and he and his companions strive to uphold honesty. As Nio faces cheaters and betrayal, will his conscience remain unchanged?
