Consequently, Lady Rifa, the crown prince's mother, falls into a state of despair, transforming into a mere shadow of her former self.

The emperor, witnessing the distressing condition of his beloved concubine, commands Maomao to attend to Lady Rifa's well-being and ensure her recovery without any compromise. Episode 4 of The Apothecary Diaries anime focuses on Maomao's efforts in nursing Lady Rifa back to health while simultaneously uncovering the underlying causes of her severe physical deterioration.
