An unfortunate incident occurred in Jackdaw's Tomb within Hogwarts Legacy, leading to the demise of a player who encountered an unexpected spider assault resulting in a fatal fall.Despite the player's character being at a higher level, they tragically descended into a confined den during their skirmish with the formidable arachnid. As a consequence, this unfortunate event caused the player to lose valuable progress.
The humorous video highlights the distinctive perils and methods of demise in the expansive open world of Hogwarts Legacy, delivering a source of amusement for players. During a gameplay session, a player of Hogwarts Legacy met an unexpected demise when a spider toppled them over with an unexpected subterranean assault. Although numerous spider encounters can be expected in the game, this particular player experienced an unintentional and unique demise at the hands of their arachnid foe.
Hogwarts Legacy spiders can be found in various locations, but players who are afraid of spiders can avoid them for a few levels. The first time players encounter these large spiders is in Jackdaw's Tomb, a mandatory encounter during the campaign. To reach Jackdaw's Tomb, players need to follow a trail west of Hogwarts Legacy's Hogsmeade village, which leads to a clearing with a basin. The entrance to the tomb is protected by Goblin loyalists. While exploring Jackdaw's Tomb, one wizard met a humorous demise by falling to their death.
A Reddit user named PaleontologistHot192 recently shared a clip of their exploration of Jackdaw's Tomb in Hogwarts Legacy. The clip starts with the player facing a large spider, with the ancient magic prompt for Hogwarts Legacy floating above it. As the spider burrows underground, the wizard casts Protego and moves to a safer distance while attacking other enemies. While PaleontologistHot192 manages to hit a spider in the distance, the burrowing spider resurfaces and attacks the wizard, causing them to be thrown backward. After landing, PaleontologistHot192 accidentally slides into a narrow crack at the end of a bridge, resulting in a fall into a small den and triggering the game over screen.
Despite being at a visibly higher level than the spiders, PaleontologistHot192's custom Hogwarts Legacy wizard faced their downfall due to the game's mechanics. Although the character died when they fell into a small space, the experience gained from their combat with the spiders still contributed to their Hufflepuff crest. The player was tasked with exploring Jackdaw's Tomb from the perspective of Hufflepuff House, specifically focusing on Azkaban Prison in Hogwarts Legacy. The other Hogwarts houses (Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Gryffindor) approached Jackdaw's Rest differently, involving Ollivander, Apollonia Black, and Nearly Headless Nick, respectively.
Considering PaleontologistHot192's death to one of the Hogwarts Legacy spiders in their video, it is likely that they lost progress upon respawning. While the player couldn't avoid their fall when attacked by the digging spider, they may have still been able to bring it down using Accio. The amusing clip showcases a unique way to die in Hogwarts Legacy, a game that offers an open world filled with dangers to be avoided.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with a Nintendo Switch release scheduled for November 14.
