Sukuna's True Identity to be Unveiled in Upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapters

Jujutsu Kaisen, a highly acclaimed anime and manga series, is set to reveal Sukuna's true identity, creating anticipation among fans Chapter 244's concluding dialogue sets the stage for the unveiling, while various speculations add to the excitement

Jujutsu Kaisen is highly praised in both the anime and manga communities. As the second season of the anime explores the Shibuya Arc incidents, the manga reveals intriguing developments. In chapter 244, Higuruma accuses Sukuna of mass murder in Shibuya and expands his domain. However, the suspenseful closing dialogue sees Higuruma stopping short of mentioning Sukuna's name.

Fans are speculating intensely as they await the upcoming chapter, with many predicting that mangaka Gege Akutami will finally unveil the true identity of the King of Curses. Please note that the following article may contain spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

The next Jujutsu Kaisen chapter is expected to unveil Sukuna’s human name

Jujutsu Kaisen manga's latest chapter, 244, kicks off with the highly anticipated Sukuna vs. Yuji and Higuruma showdown. Fans are excitedly discussing the potential dynamics of this deadly courtroom battle, speculating about what's to come.

Previously, the series revealed that Ryomen Sukuna is not the real name of the figure known as Sukuna by fans. In Chapter 3, Gojo told Yuji that the King of Curses was once a human sorcerer who was given the title "Ryomen Sukuna."

The term ‘Ryomen Sukuna’ translates to “two-faced demon” in Japanese mythology. It is derived from the Nihon Shoki, also known as Nihongi or The Chronicles of Japan. For more information on Sukuna’s mythology references, please visit.

The concluding dialogue in chapter 244 creates suspense surrounding Sukuna’s name

After Sukuna faced off with Hajime Kashimo, the clash between Sukuna, Yuji Itadori, and Hiromi Higuruma begins. In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 244, flashback scenes unveil the schemes concocted by Yuji, Higuruma, and their companions to overcome this formidable enemy.

Despite possessing Higuruma’s formidable Domain Expansion, Deadly Sentencing, they struggle to devise a solid plan. The main worry is that even the combined strength of Yuji and Higuruma might not be enough.

Yet, Yuji ultimately devises a way to face and potentially overcome Sukuna. He proposes to restart his trial, with Higuruma's agreement, who suggests including Sukuna as a co-defendant in the Shibuya massacre and seeking the death penalty for him.

"Sukuna's crimes are beyond dispute. The evidence points to him as the true criminal," Higuruma concluded, sending a ripple of tension through the courtroom.

“The true perpetrator is...”

This new development has prompted speculation that Higuruma’s group may accuse Sukuna using his original human name instead of the title “Ryomen Sukuna.” As a result, some fans are speculating that the reveal of Sukuna's name will happen in the next chapter (chapter 245).

Other possible speculations and their downsides

There are other theories circulating in the fandom that suggest a different outcome. One theory suggests that the court may place blame on Megumi, similar to what happened with Yuji before. There are several reasons supporting this speculation.

One reason is that Sukuna currently resides within Megumi’s body, making it plausible for Megumi to be seen as a co-defendant. Even if Sukuna is held responsible for the crime, there is a possibility that he could argue that the act was committed in the process of subduing Mahoraga, whom Megumi had originally unleashed.

Nevertheless, these theories are not without their flaws. Even if the responsibility were to shift to Megumi, Sukuna would still suffer the consequences as he is currently inhabiting Megumi Fushiguro's body. Additionally, Sukuna would likely want to maintain possession of the powerful Ten Shadows Cursed Technique. Therefore, the notion of him placing the blame on Megumi appears unlikely.
