Who Is Sukuna?

Ryomen Sukuna, the reigning King of Curses and the most formidable Jujutsu sorcerer from a millennium ago, devised a means of preserving his essence and might. Posthumously, Sukuna assumed the form of a cursed artifact, splintering his power into 20 accursed fingers. The reawakening of his existence became feasible once Itadori Yuuji ingested one of these fingers, thus aligning himself as Sukuna's vessel, and allowing the resurrection of the malevolent sorcerer into this realm.

Who Is Megumi, And How Did He First Encounter Sukuna?

As a member of the Zenin clan and a bearer of the Ten Shadows technique, Megumi possessed innate talent for jujutsu sorcery since birth. However, Megumi himself never truly embraced this potential and only discovered the world of jujutsu when his father offered him to the Zenin clan. Under the guidance of Satoru Gojo, Megumi achieved the rank of a grade two sorcerer while attending Tokyo Jujutsu High as a first-year student. During a mission to eradicate a curse, he crossed paths with Itadori Yuuji, an ordinary high school student at the time, and later encountered Ryomen Sukuna. Despite his best efforts, Megumi was unable to halt the King of Curses, since he was at his weakest. Fortunately, timely intervention by Satoru Gojo prevented a calamitous outcome.

Instances Where Sukuna Expressed Interest In Megumi

Sukuna showed interest in Megumi, particularly his technique, after their initial meeting in the Cursed Womb arc. During their fight, Sukuna questioned why Megumi was holding back his power and why he ran from a special-grade cursed spirit during the Fearsome Womb arc, considering his ability to control 'shadows'. Why Is Sukuna Interested In Megumi?

Sukuna's intentions regarding Megumi became a subject of curiosity amongst fans. When Jogo forcefully inserted ten fingers into Itadori, Sukuna took control but refused Jogo's offer for permanent possession, stating he had his own agenda. In the 212th chapter of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Sukuna finally activates the pact he made with Itadori Yuuji, whereby he would heal him after ripping out his heart.

The pact stipulated that Sukuna could possess Itadori for a minute without causing harm to anyone. However, Itadori unintentionally omitted himself from the agreement. As a result, Sukuna took control of Itadori, gathered his entire soul into one of Itadori's fingers, removed it, and forcefully fed it to Megumi. This enabled Sukuna to possess Megumi and have complete control over his body.
