Abigail Spencer, who played Harvey Specter’s former love interest Dana “Scottie” Scott, shares her thoughts on possibly returning for the new Suits L.A. spinoff. The spinoff, announced last October, will shift the focus from New York to a Los Angeles-based law firm specializing in the entertainment industry. Arrow’s Stephen Amell is set to star as defense attorney Ted Black, with Josh McDermitt and Lex Scott Davis also on board.
Spencer, who joined the original Suits cast in season 1 as Harvey’s love interest, recently discussed the possibility of reprising her role in the spinoff. While creator Aaron Korsh initially intended for Harvey and Scottie to end up together, Spencer acknowledged that his character’s relationship with Donna, played by Sarah Rafferty, made more sense. Nevertheless, she expressed interest in returning for the new show, which could involve characters from the Suits universe. See her comments below:
Playing Scottie was a blast and she was the first character to challenge Harvey. Whenever I was free, they always wanted me back for every season.

Spencer is not the only one who wants her character to return for Suits L.A. Other actors like Rick Hoffman, Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, and Rafferty have also shown interest in reprising their roles. However, out of the entire original Suits cast, Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter is probably the character audiences are most excited to see. As the heart of the original series, Amell's Ted Black will have a challenging task proving himself as the new show's leading man following in Harvey's footsteps.
After stepping away from acting following the conclusion of Suits in 2019, Macht's potential return to the show has sparked interest. Korsch may consider contacting him for a cameo in the new spinoff. However, this would likely happen only after the series is picked up for a full season, following the initial pilot filming in March.
Including Spencer's character, Scottie, in the Suits L.A. pilot episode or early on in a potential season 1 could lay the groundwork for Macht's return. As one of Harvey's frequent legal foes, Dana Scott could provide unique insights into Harvey's journey after leaving New York for Seattle at the end of Suits season 9. Additionally, a possible romantic storyline with Amell's character could set the stage for Harvey's future involvement in the show.

The upcoming "Suits L.A." spinoff has sparked excitement among fans of the original series, and the possibility of Abigail Spencer reprising her role as Scottie has further fueled anticipation. Spencer's enthusiasm for returning to the show highlights the enduring appeal of her character and the potential for her to play a significant role in the new spinoff.
The article also raises the intriguing possibility of Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter appearing in the spinoff. While Macht's return is not yet confirmed, the suggestion that Scottie's involvement could pave the way for Harvey's appearance is tantalizing. Scottie's legal expertise and connection to Harvey would provide a compelling reason for him to make an appearance, and it would be a fitting tribute to the original series to see the two characters interact once again.
