The High Republic's Most Dangerous Force Predators
The High Republic Era, set hundreds of years before the Skywalker saga, introduces a new and canonical period in the Star Wars timeline. It features a prosperous Jedi Order and Republic facing rising threats such as the Nihil marauders who brought back an ancient power to the galaxy.

Known as the Nameless or the Shrii-ka-rai, these predators used by the Nihil are incredibly dangerous to Force sensitives such as the Jedi, though their origins are largely mysterious and unknown in the Star Wars canon. It's been implied that they are much older than the High Republic period itself, suggesting a potential connection to the Sith's creations from the preceding Old Republic era and the Dark Lords of the Sith.

The Nameless & A Dangerous Sith Experiment
Leviathans, now part of the non-canon known as Legends, were very similar to the Nameless. They were bioengineered carnivores created by the Sith's predecessors known as Dark Jedi. Leviathans had dark effects on Force sensitives, causing them to hear screams and suffer incredible pain, driving them into blind and obsessive aggression to make the pain stop.
Leviathans in Star Wars
The Nameless, under the control of the Nihil marauders, constantly hunger for the Force itself to the point that they'll break their own bones to get to their next meal. They can completely paralyze a Jedi when they're in proximity and feed on and drain a Jedi's Force energy until their victim is petrified to death and they are nothing but a crumbling husk.

The Nameless & The Sith Connection
The Nameless have been part of Jedi legends and myths 'since time immemorial' and could have had a presence during the Old Republic era. It's possible that the creatures encountered the Sith Lords, and the Sith may have been the ones who created the control rods Marchion Ro recovered to harness and direct the Force predators' power during the High Republic.
Sith in the Old Republic
The Nameless could have been mutated into the Leviathan by the Sith or their predecessors. While the Leviathans may be part of the non-canon Legends, 'Sithspawn' is still canon, the overarching term for many of the Sith's horrific genetic creations during the Old Republic of which the Leviathans are included.
