Introduction
Star Wars Outlaws promises players a more immersive look at the Outer Rim and its many criminal factions through exploration and side quests. The game's open-world experience will take players to both old and new locations in the Galaxy Far, Far, Away, offering a gritty tale of the underworld set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Star Wars Outlaws Open World
The developers behind Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment, drew inspiration from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to deliver a sandbox Star Wars game centered around Kay Vess, an aspiring outlaw looking to make a name for herself among the criminal element of the Star Wars galaxy.
Exploring the Outer Rim
In Star Wars Outlaws, players will journey to various planets in the seedy Outer Rim territory, offering a mix of classic Star Wars worlds and brand-new locations. The game includes planets like Tatooine, Cantonica, Kijimi, Akiva, and Toshara, promising an immersive experience in familiar and new settings.
Narrative Director Navid Khavari revealed that the gameplay will consist of three distinct types of environments, including cities and highly populated areas, vast open-world areas, and space. Players can navigate these environments using vehicles, explore on foot, and travel through space aboard Kay's personal starship, 'The Trailblazer.'
Side Quests and Immersive Gameplay
Khavari explained that players can gain favor within the Outer Rim by performing tasks for its various criminal leaders, including Jabba the Hutt. Kay's interactions with these leaders will shape her profile, offering players the freedom to make choices and influence the game's narrative.
Star Wars Outlaws aims to deliver an open-world sandbox game experience, allowing players to take detours from the main plot to perform side quests and uncover hidden secrets. This promises a more immersive gameplay experience, giving fans the opportunity to explore the beloved Star Wars universe in a new light.
