Although Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge are embarking on a fresh chapter in their relationship, they haven't reached the stage of wanting to grow their family just yet.
"Sofia and Elliot are not in a hurry to start a family at the moment. They are both young and aware that they have plenty of time ahead of them," a source exclusively reveals to We. "They are still adjusting to married life and find it incredibly exciting to address each other as 'husband' and 'wife.' Although they have discussed having children and both desire it, they will wait for the right moment."
Currently, the couple's main focus is enjoying their newlywed status, the insider mentions. Their "friends and family have never witnessed them this happy," and the pair "deeply cherish" each other.
"Sofia continues to feel like she's living in a dream, expressing gratitude for having the husband of her dreams," shares an insider. "He treats her with utmost adoration and respect, truly making her feel like royalty. They are thriving in their marital bliss and continue to revel in their union."
In April, Richie, 24, and Grainge, 29, exchanged vows in an exquisite ceremony set against the scenic backdrop of the French Riviera. Throughout their wedding weekend, the model astounded attendees by donning three exquisite custom Chanel gowns. Her grand entrance down the aisle showcased a breathtaking beaded lace ensemble accentuated by a halter neckline.
"We designed the upper part of the dress to have a bridal feel," Sofia, daughter of Lionel Richie and his ex-wife Diane Alexander, told Vogue. "It's truly enchanting. I truly believe Elliot will adore it. He always supports and cheers me on with whatever I wear. If he doesn't shed a tear, I'll be incredibly disappointed."
The wedding ceremony was a glamorous event, with Sofia's father escorting her down the aisle and numerous celebrities in attendance, including her sister Nicole Richie, her husband Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz, and Paris Hilton.
Before Sofia's extravagant wedding, a source revealed to Us that both Sofia and her fiance's families were eagerly anticipating their special day. "Sofia's family is thrilled for her and Elliot. They have seen her in previous relationships, but her happiness with Elliot surpasses anything they have witnessed before," the insider shared with Us. "They believe she will be a stunning bride and are excited for her as she begins this new chapter in her life."
Before getting into a relationship, the families of the couple were already acquainted with each other for several years. This is because Elliot's father, Sir Lucian Grainge, holds the position of chairman and CEO at Universal Music Group and has collaborated with Sofia's father on numerous occasions. The duo officially announced their relationship in April 2021, and after dating for a year, Elliott proposed to Sofia. Sofia took to Instagram in April 2022, sharing a collection of photos from the proposal and expressing, "Forever isn't enough time, @elliot."
