'Reaction in Spain has been polarised'
Spanish football expert Semra Hunter speaking to We News about the incident:Hermoso, who was part of the starting lineup against England in the World Cup final on Sunday, unfortunately failed to convert a penalty in the second half, as Mary Earps made a remarkable save.
The response in Spain has generated divided opinions. While some individuals believe that it was simply a spontaneous reaction and not a significant issue, effectively defending him in a sense. On the other hand, there are those who question his actions and thoughts, considering them highly inappropriate.
In an attempt to minimize the issue, she downplayed it to the media, emphasizing their strong relationship and highlighting his continual support for the girls during the tournament. She also stated that he has displayed exemplary behavior. However, on social media, she expressed a lack of enjoyment towards the situation. This leaves us uncertain about her genuine feelings regarding the matter.
If her discomfort is genuine, we must address the underlying issue to understand why she feels unable to express herself openly.
The responses have been polarizing, with some downplaying the significance and others appalled by what they witnessed, calling for his resignation as the President of the Spanish FA.
