Simone Biles is tired of people criticizing her husband, Jonathan Owens.
She took to her Instagram Story on Sunday, May 19 to express her frustration with the lack of respect towards her relationship. Biles made it clear that the joke was never a joke and called out those who were being disrespectful to her and her husband.
In a straightforward and assertive manner, the Olympic gymnast stated, "So I'm gonna go ahead and say this one time. Respectfully, f—k off."
Biles warned, "If you continue to comment or tweet at me, I will simply block you. It's as simple as that. And no, I don't need to do what you suggest like touching grass or anything... To everyone who supports us, we appreciate you all so much."
Biles made this statement the day after competing in the U.S. Core Hydration Classic on Saturday, May 18. This was her first meet of the season after debuting at Gymnastics Camp. Owens, 28, was in the stands cheering on his wife as she won the all-around title at the meet. She impressed with her performances on the balance beam, vault, floor, and uneven bars.
Biles has had to come to her husband's defense before, especially when he faced criticism after being traded to the Chicago Bears from the Houston Texans and Green Bay Packers. The football player caused a stir in December 2023 when he referred to himself as the "catch" in their relationship on "The Pivot" podcast.
Earlier this year, Biles responded to the backlash by saying that she didn't see anything wrong with the interview at the time.

During an episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on April 17, she reminisced about being in the room, sitting on a chair during the entire video, even though she wasn't visible. She felt proud watching her man's performance and chuckled when the camera caught her in a viral moment.
She went on to say that he never claimed she wasn't a catch; instead, he emphasized that he was a catch because he truly is. She expressed admiration for him, mentioning how people often express a desire to find someone like him when they meet Jonathan.
Owens caused a stir when he confessed that he had no idea who Biles was when they first connected on Raya in 2020. (Biles, a highly accomplished gymnast, holds a record of 37 Olympic and World Championship medals.)
After dating for two years, Biles and Owens got married in April 2023. Initially finding the online criticism of Owens's interview amusing, Biles eventually revealed that the negative comments began to deeply affect her.
"He's amazing. I've never met anyone like him. He still opens my doors," Biles shared on "Call Her Daddy" last month. "I'm not saying this because I expect men to do it, but he genuinely goes above and beyond for me."
She continued, "Anyone who knows him can attest to how kind and willing to help he is. You can say what you want about me, but don't mess with my family."
