Simone Biles Shatters Stereotypes by Excelling in Both Love and Gymnastics

Simone Biles is defying expectations as she embraces her marriage to Jonathan Owens while pursuing her gymnastics dreams. Despite societal beliefs, the 26-year-old gymnast is determined to prove that being a wife doesn't hinder her ability to excel as a professional athlete.

Biles, who became the most decorated gymnast in history at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, recently married Owens. Despite her intense athletic training, she has actively made an effort to maintain a healthy balance in her relationship with her husband. Biles now prioritizes not only her gym time but also spending quality time with her family, taking vacations, and nurturing other aspects of her life. She acknowledges that in the past, she tended to prioritize gymnastics above everything else, but now she feels connected to a wider range of interests, with gymnastics being just one part of her day.

While Biles noted that she used to live at her gym, now she can’t wait to go home at the end of the day to see Owens and their dogs.

Owens is a professional football player, who signed with the Green Bay Packers in May.

"We are currently in a long-distance relationship, which is quite unconventional since he left right after our wedding," mentioned Biles, who is based in Texas. "Interestingly, despite being two professional athletes, people assume we would be constantly competing with each other. However, he is competitive while I am not. Whether it's playing video games or cards, I find it incredibly enjoyable and winning or losing doesn't matter to me."

Biles and Owens began their romantic relationship in 2020 after connecting on the dating app Raya. They got engaged two years later in February 2022. Initially, they exchanged vows in a courthouse ceremony in April, followed by a larger wedding ceremony held in May.
