The ninth episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is titled "Shibuya Incident Opening." It starts with various characters sharing their impressions of Gojo, with Yuji and Megumi expressing gratitude towards him for saving their lives while others insult him. However, there is a consensus that Satoru Gojo is undeniably the strongest.
The episode then transitions to Fukutoshin B5F, continuing from the previous episode's events. Gojo focuses on Hanami as his primary objective and deactivates his Infinity ability to launch simultaneous attacks against both Curses, with Choso receding into the background.

Gojo severed Jogo's arm, giving Hanami the impression that civilians were no longer an obstacle. Mistakenly interpreting this as a signal to employ their Cursed Technique, Hanami had to deactivate their Domain Amplification as they couldn't utilize both simultaneously. Despite Jogo's warning, it seemed too late.
With the Domain Amplification deactivated, Gojo seized the chance to target Hanami directly and gripped their vulnerable eye-branches, which Megumi had identified as weak spots. He forcefully removed them, leaving Hanami disoriented. Jogo remarked on his survival being solely due to the Domain Amplification.
He was astonished by Gojo's ability to unleash such devastating damage without relying on his Cursed Technique. In that moment, Choso attempted to intervene in the fight, yet Gojo perceived him as merely a Death Painting, less active and therefore a problem to be dealt with afterwards.

Hanami and Jogo made another attempt to attack Gojo using Domain Amplification, but he cautioned them that it could potentially be fatal. As Hanami closed in on Gojo, he activated his infinity, effectively trapping them between his Infinity and the third Curtain surrounding Fukutoshin B5F.
This was the precise situation that the curses believed would prevent Gojo from utilizing his Domain, as it could result in innocent people being crushed between two barriers. Jogo attempted to divert Gojo's attention, only to discover that Hanami had already been exorcised. Jogo sought refuge amongst the civilians, but as he continued to eliminate them, their numbers dwindled, making it increasingly easier for Gojo to maneuver.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9: A train full of humans

In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9, the perspective shifted to another flashback. Geto informed Jogo, Hanami, and Mahito that the Prison Realm was created using the remains of the Buddhist monk, Genshin. This realm had the power to seal anything, but there was a condition. To seal someone or something, they needed to be kept within a 4-meter radius of the Prison Realm for one minute. Though this seemed challenging, it was not impossible with Gojo. The episode then returned to the present, where Jogo realized that even with Choso's assistance, they could not restrain Gojo for much longer.

He wondered if the 20-minute mark had passed, but elsewhere, Geto pondered that Gojo still had it too easy. At Harajaku (Meiji-Jingumae) B4F, the civilian that team Mei Mei had encountered underwent a grotesque transformation after disclosing to Yuji that he couldn't board the train. Yuji immediately grasped that Mahito had orchestrated a sinister scheme to target Gojo.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9, the action shifted to Shibuya B5F, where a train bound for Harajuku arrived. To everyone's surprise, as the doors opened, a horde of transfigured humans flooded out, including Mahito who had just learned of Hanami's demise. Chaos erupted as the transfigured humans began attacking the innocent civilians. Adding to the mayhem, the atrium at the center of the platform opened up, forcibly throwing the remaining civilians from the upper levels into B5F. Joined by Jogo and Choso, Mahito orchestrated a coordinated assault, resulting in a grim massacre that pushed Satoru to his breaking point.

The curses realized that Gojo possessed worldly knowledge, unlike Yuji, and understood the importance of making sacrifices. However, Gojo's notion of sacrifice was restricted to the number of people the curses killed, not the number of people he had to kill himself. Exploiting this difference, the curses relied on the fact that Gojo wouldn't use his Domain because it would result in civilian casualties.
Surprising everyone, Gojo defied expectations by activating his Domain Expansion, but only for a mere 0.2 seconds. In this brief moment, the Infinite Void forcefully inundated the victim's brain with approximately six months' worth of information. This was considered the maximum limit that the civilians could endure without succumbing to death.

Nevertheless, this tiny Domain ran the risk of having no impact on the Curses, and at most, it could only immobilize them temporarily for a few minutes. The primary targets of this Domain Expansion, however, were the humans transformed by the Curses. In the narration of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9, it was explained that these affected civilians underwent rehabilitation over the following two months and ultimately managed to resume their normal lives.
Nearly a thousand transformed individuals were killed within 5 minutes after the Fukutoshin B5F platform's Unlimited Void was deactivated for 0.2 seconds on October 31. Satoru Gojo was responsible for the deactivation and, as he attempted to leave the platform, he was confronted by a cube, just as Suguru Geto had forewarned, saying, "Open, Prison Realm."

Gojo shocked to see Geto (Image via MAPPA)
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9, the story takes us back to the present. As the Prison Realm Gate opens and Gojo attempts to escape, he is unexpectedly greeted by Suguru Geto, his late best friend. Gojo is stunned, knowing that he had personally killed Suguru just a year ago during the "Night Parade of a Hundred Demons." The presence of Suguru's Six Eyes confirms that this is not a clone or impersonation, but the real Suguru. In this moment, Gojo reminisces about their past, from their school days to the years of conflict that followed.
Geto now clarified that when he referred to "one minute," he was actually referring to an entire minute's worth of time within the subject's brain. As Satoru's mind processed this vast and extensive history, the circumstances aligned to activate the Prison Realms, ensnaring him in its inescapable grip. This resulted in his complete immobilization and the sealing off of his Cursed Energy, rendering the Strongest Living Jujutsu Sorcerer considerably ineffective.

After acknowledging his defeat, Gojo confronted Geto and questioned his true identity. On receiving a response confirming that he was indeed Suguru Geto, Gojo emphatically declared, "Although my Six Eyes perceive you as Suguru Geto, my soul believes otherwise."
Shocked, Geto gave in and undid the stitches on his forehead. This allowed him to uncover the top portion of Suguru's head, revealing a brain with a mouth. This brain, known as Kenjaku, was an ancient Curse User with the ability to transfer between bodies by occupying their brains after their deaths.
With this possession, Kenjaku had full access to the body's memories and the ability to utilize its Cursed Technique. He disclosed that he had been keeping an eye on Suguru for a considerable period of time and found his opportunity to possess him when Gojo, motivated by sentimentality, chose not to dispose of the body after killing Suguru.
As seen in the anime, Kenjaku bid Gojo farewell, aware that the prison realm's time flowed differently, leading him to believe Gojo would be released in a hundred or even a thousand years. Gojo reminded him that Geto had been defeated by Yuta, to which Kenjaku scornfully responded that Yuta Okkotsu could never attain the status of Satoru Gojo.
Mahito regained consciousness after his encounter with the Infinite Void, being the first among the group to do so. In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9, the focus shifted to Harajaku, where a diminutive drone resembling Mechamaru approached Team Mei Mei. It relayed the message to Yuji Itadori that Gojo had been sealed.
