TV executive Andrew Kreisberg was arrested earlier this year for an alleged incident at a bar mitzvah. Vanity Fair reported on Tuesday, October 3, that Kreisberg, aged 52, was charged with misdemeanor forcible touching after his arrest in March. Court documents obtained by the outlet revealed that the incident occurred in May 2022 at a bar mitzvah in Pleasantville, New York. A woman, who was a friend of the producer's wife, provided a statement to the police describing her alleged encounter with Kreisberg.

Andrew Kreisberg approached me at the table. While we were standing there, he placed his hands on my arms and back. Then, he wrapped his hands around my waist and forcefully pressed his erect penis against my buttocks twice. The whole incident happened so quickly that I wasn't sure what was going on until I felt his penis against me. When I realized what was happening, I yelled, 'What the f--k are you doing? Get away from me.' After that, I went to the bathroom." The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, decided to speak out against Kreisberg because she believed it was necessary for someone to stand up against him. However, Kreisberg's legal team has denied the allegations.

“According to Kreisberg’s lawyer, he is a highly skilled creative individual who is often misunderstood due to being neurodivergent and socially awkward. The lawyer argues that the report is yet another example of ableist bullying against neurodivergent people.

During an August court hearing, a judge granted an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal. To have the case completely dismissed, Kreisberg must continue with psychiatric therapy, which his lawyer confirmed he had already started prior to the hearing. Vanity Fair reports that the case is still ongoing.”

Kreisberg had various roles on The CW's The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. These included being a writer, codeveloper, co-showrunner, and executive producer. However, in November 2017, he was suspended due to allegations of sexual harassment while on set. Deadline reported that numerous staff members from the DC shows accused Kreisberg of inappropriate behavior and fostering a toxic work environment.

As news of the scandal emerged, several stars from Kreisberg's shows, including Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin, spoke out against sexual harassment and showed support for the alleged victims. In response to these claims, an investigation took place, ultimately resulting in Kreisberg being fired by the network.
