90 Day Fiancé star Yara Zaya is standing by her choice to secretly use birth control without her husband Jovi Dufren's knowledge. Yara recently spoke exclusively to We at a red carpet event for the TLC reality series, explaining that she has no regrets about her decision because her child, Mylah, was not present at the time.
Yara shockingly admitted during an episode of 90 Day: The Last Resort that she had been covertly using contraception, despite Jovi's strong desire to expand their family. (The couple became parents to their daughter Mylah, aged 3, in September 2020, seven months after getting married.)
Expressing his thoughts, Jovi, aged 33, disclosed that he is still "not okay" with his wife's decision. He clarified, "I believe she should have discussed it with me prior, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. It's not extremely terrible. I simply wish that whenever she faces such concerns, she can confide in me first so that we can make decisions together."
Jovi expressed his dissatisfaction with Yara revealing her confession about birth control during a group therapy session with their Last Resort castmates. However, he acknowledged the positive influence that therapy has had on their overall relationship.
"Having conversations with the therapist and gaining a deeper understanding of our relationship has definitely had a positive effect on us," Jovi stated.
The 90 Day couples, featured in the spinoff of The Last Resort, embarked on a tropical resort getaway in an effort to mend their relationships. With cameras capturing their journey, Jovi revealed to Us that certain subjects, like their intimate life, proved to be more comfortable to address than others.

Discussing the possibility of having another baby and various other matters appears to be more intense, in Jovi's opinion. He mentioned that talking about sexual subjects can be slightly uncomfortable, yet it doesn't generate as much stress.
Yara challenged the notion, highlighting the contrasting views on discussing sexuality between America and Europe. "Wearing lingerie can evoke feelings of difficulty and shame for many European women, while posing in a swimsuit is deemed acceptable," shared the Ukraine native. "Although there were moments of discomfort and awkwardness, I remained open to the experience. Additionally, through my time on Last Resort, I became aware of the numerous conflicts and traumas I have encountered."

The couple's life has improved since their departure from The Last Resort. They have come to acknowledge the existence of underlying issues that were previously overlooked. Jovi expressed the need to address communication problems and discuss matters that they had been avoiding. Yara affirmed their progress, stating that they have now discovered the right path to move forward in.
