Luke Jones and Laura Bileskaline are finally speaking up following their dismissal from Below Deck Down Under.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, August 8, Laura issued an apology to Adam Kodra for her inappropriate advances, stating, "I sincerely apologize to Adam. I was unaware that my actions made him uncomfortable, and it is never acceptable to put anyone in such a position."
Laura also issued an apology to her costar Margot Sisson for questioning her incident with Luke. "And I apologize to Margot for not being able to empathize. I was 29 when the show was filmed, and turning 30 was a life-changing moment. Now, at 31, I am watching it just like all of you, as mere entertainment," Laura added.
Luke, on his part, "liked" Laura's statement on social media. He seemed to refer to the controversy in a vague caption of his own, posting on Instagram on Sunday, August 6, "It doesn't matter what others think about you because it is of no importance to you. Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is just a perspective, not the absolute truth. Take ownership and move forward."
Luke faced criticism during consecutive episodes on Monday, August 7th when he entered Margot's bed without clothing after a power outage on the boat. Producers intervened when Luke attempted to make advances towards Margot, causing visible distress for him. Captain Jason intervened by relocating Luke to a hotel before ultimately terminating his employment the following morning.
"I regret to address an incident that occurred last night, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect within this environment. Our cabins serve as our sanctuary, with the door acting as a clear boundary," Jason informed the crew. "The door should only be accessed with consent and any indecent intrusion into someone else's room surpasses my tolerance level."
Laura found herself in a difficult situation when she defended Luke, causing her co-star Aesha Scott to inform Jason about Laura's lack of respect for personal boundaries with Adam. The captain then confirmed with Adam that Laura's behavior made him feel uncomfortable, resulting in her termination.
"Adam has expressed discomfort with certain situations involving you, and he has tried to establish boundaries. However, you have not respected his wishes," Jason informed Laura. "After I addressed the crew multiple times about the importance of boundaries and respect, did you not go to Margot and express sympathy for Luke, wishing he had come to see you? You have completely disregarded the values I set out to uphold."

He reached a conclusion, stating, "I am focused on progressing as a unified team. However, by bringing up the past incident, you are hindering this progress. Therefore, I am terminating your employment today. I cannot continue with you as a member of the team in the environment I am attempting to establish."
Following the broadcast of the episodes, Aesha and Jason have been inundated with support on social media for their handling of the incident. Aesha also spoke out about the situation, sharing her own experience with sexual assault.
"I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the main message conveyed in the episode, which is that women, and indeed everyone, deserve the right to go out, have fun, and feel safe. This is non-negotiable. So please be vigilant and look out for your friends and one another."
