Laura Bileskaline appears unfazed by the criticism surrounding her stint on Below Deck Down Under. Taking to her Instagram Story on Thursday, August 10, the stewardess shared an interview where she addressed the response to the second season.
"The crucial aspect is that individuals discuss you. Whether it is positive or negative, allow them to continue the conversation!" she conveyed in the video broadcasted during the LION Lunch Hour prior to her exit from the show. "It doesn't bother me at all because they are engaging in discussions about me."
Laura supplemented a caption in her post, stating, "Detractors will always criticize. As long as you find entertainment, it doesn't bother me."
Laura and Luke Jones caused a stir this week with their contentious actions — and subsequent departures — from Below Deck Down Under. In a series of consecutive episodes on Monday, August 7, Luke brazenly jumped into Margot Sisson's bed unclothed following a power outage on the boat. Producers intervened when he attempted to make advances towards Margot, and Luke ended up being dismissed the following morning.
Captain Jason addressed the crew, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect in their shared living space. He made it clear that their cabin serves as a sanctuary, and the door symbolizes a boundary that should not be crossed without consent. Captain Jason expressed that entering someone else's room without permission, especially in an inappropriate manner, is beyond acceptable limits.
Meanwhile, Laura's defense of Luke sparked scrutiny among her fellow cast members. They began discussing her inappropriate behavior towards Adam Kodra, which led Jason to ultimately dismiss her.
"The truth is, Adam has expressed discomfort with certain moments shared with you, and he has made it clear that he wants those boundaries respected," the captain addressed Laura. "Despite my repeated speeches on the importance of boundaries and respect, did you not approach Margot and express your disappointment that Luke didn't come to see you? It's evident that you have disregarded the very principles I aimed to uphold."
He concluded: "I am striving to move forward as a team and leave this issue in the past. However, you have brought it up again. As a result, I will be terminating your employment today. I cannot continue working with you in the team and environment that I am trying to create."
In response to the controversy, Laura took to Instagram to apologize to Adam and Margot on Tuesday, August 8. She wrote, "I want to sincerely apologize to Adam. I was unaware that I had made him feel uncomfortable, and no one should ever be put in that position. I also apologize to Margot for not being able to empathize. At the time of filming the show, I was 29 years old, and turning 30 was a significant moment for me. Now, at 31, I am watching it along with all of you as mere entertainment."

Jason urged viewers to show compassion for Laura and Luke following their firings. In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, August 9, he expressed his gratitude to the production team for breaking the fourth wall and intervening. Jason acknowledged that he had received numerous messages from individuals who had faced similar situations, some with less fortunate outcomes, and he extended his sympathy to them. He also emphasized that the events depicted in episodes six and seven took place over a year ago and expressed hope that all the individuals involved were now on a path towards personal growth.
