Blizzard's global community development director has debunked a Diablo 4 myth regarding drop rates being influenced by the number of items in a player's stash. Since the launch of Diablo 4 Season 1, Blizzard has addressed fan feedback through multiple updates. The Stash, or storage space, in Diablo 4 has sparked discussions within the community, with players expressing frustration over limited inventory space and proposing their own suggestions for improvement. Fortunately, Blizzard has acknowledged these concerns and revealed plans to increase Stash space in Diablo 4, although implementation will require some time. Additionally, Blizzard has refuted a rumor that suggested item drop rates are influenced by the available Stash space.
According to a Reddit post, it was suggested that the drop rates of items in the game are influenced by the items already present in players' Stash. This theory was put forward by a player on the Asia server of Diablo 4, who claimed that the game server scans the players' inventory and Stash, specifically focusing on legendary items or rares with an item power of 800+, in order to adjust the drop rate for that player. The post also provided a method for players to test this theory by transferring all their Legendary items to alternative characters for selling or salvaging, and then starting to farm for new items. However, Adam Fletcher, the global community development director of Diablo 4, refuted this theory and stated that it is not true, emphasizing that drop rates are not affected by the items held in players' stash or inventory.
Even though this claim had some supporting evidence, a number of community members regarded it more as a target farming technique that had not been tested in other regions. Target farming in Diablo 4 has been possible to some extent, although it does not necessarily guarantee better equipment. It is worth noting that Blizzard quickly took action to shut down an instance where players were able to farm Uber Uniques in Diablo 4's Helltides.
Trading in Diablo 4 has been suspended by Blizzard due to players exploiting a glitch that allows them to duplicate items and gold in the game. It was later revealed that a Crossbow valued at 30 billion gold was potentially the cause for this suspension. Diablo 4 can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
